Dr. Alexandra Tsigarida on the ITI Napa stage with a message every clinician treating full arch cases needs to hear.
The goal should always be to provide the best treatment for the patient based on their specific needs. Not a one-size-fits-all approach. Not defaulting to the same prosthesis for every case.
Start with FP1 if possible. If that's not achievable, an FP2 with minimal prosthetic gingiva can reduce surgical complexity while still delivering an excellent outcome. The 2026 ITI global consensus supports this patient-centered approach.
Every case is different. Every patient deserves a plan designed around their anatomy, their needs, and the best possible outcome for them.
Thoughtful. Evidence-based. Patient-first. That's the standard Alexandra brought to the stage. Alexandra, you crushed it!
Dr. Ghida Lawand on the ITI Napa stage delivering a masterclass in digital workflow precision.
Immediate implant placement after a root fracture. Guided surgery through implant planning software.
And then the question every clinician faces: what do you do with the tissue?
Ghida walked the audience through Gary Finnell’s socket sealing abutment concept and took it further. Using the same planning software to virtually extract the tooth, export the implant position, and design a customized abutment that recreates the exact gingival contour of the pre-existing tooth.
Tissue preservation from day one. Technology and biology working together from the moment the implant is placed.
And Ghida’s delivery matched the precision of the workflow. Complex clinical information made accessible to every clinician in the room. That’s a speaker who has truly crafted her abilities.
Ghida continues to represent the SDS community at the highest level, right here on one of the biggest stages in implant dentistry.
Dr. Larry Brecht on the ITI Napa stage showing what true team-based dentistry looks like.
The workflow starts with collaboration. Surgeon, prosthodontist, lab technician, all in dialogue from the beginning.
Planning together. Learning from each other. Knowing each other’s preferences so the ex*****on is seamless.
Then he shared Abigail’s story. A cleft patient he started treating at one week old. Years of collaborative care with orthodontists and specialists.
And when she was ready to head off to college, the team restored her with an implant and a smile she’s proud of.
That’s what team-based care makes possible.
Education that moves the room and teams dedicated to serving patients.
Brody and Alex are behind the scenes at the ITI Congress.
Straumann’s corporate session is bringing the heat this morning 🔥
Dr. Edmond Bedrossian opened with an incredible lecture on long-term restoration from FP1 to FP3.
Then Dr. Berfin Jacobs took the stage and delivered. Sharp. Focused. Interesting content.
And perfect on time, which every speaker in this room knows matters. SDS Tribe is so proud of you!
Now Dr. Armand Bedrossian is up breaking down the prosthetic side of FP1 versus FP3.
The education in this room right now is elite.
Stay tuned. More behind-the-scenes coming from the floor.

Longevity in implant dentistry. One of the hottest topics in the profession right now.
Dr. Larry Brecht and Marisa Notturno are taking the stage at ITI Napa, and their message comes down to this: precision. Accuracy. Attention to detail. Getting the diagnosis right.
The materials we have today are excellent. The key is knowing how to use them, when to use them, and how to optimize what they do for our patients.
And we loved what Larry said about stepping on stage: if you’re not a little nervous, you’re not respecting the audience.
That’s the mindset of someone who has been doing this for decades and still treats every presentation like it matters.
When Dr. Larry Brecht talks about team, you listen.
Larry and Marisa Notturno have worked together for over 20 years. She’s one of three lab team members in his office, and the relationship is built on mutual respect.
She has the authority to tell him to do it over. He learns from her constantly. Everyone in the practice is on equal footing.
His philosophy? The boss eats last. Take care of your team. Stay in control. Be open to criticism.
And never be afraid to surround yourself with people who are more talented than you, because that’s the only way to grow.
That’s leadership. Stay tuned for part 2!

For Dr. Will Martin, being part of AO is about more than attending a meeting. It’s about helping shape the conversations that move the profession forward.
Serving on the program committee alongside colleagues like Dr. Paul Fugazzotto, he’s had the opportunity to help bring together the topics and speakers that make this event valuable for clinicians around the world.
But what matters most to him is mentorship. Through the University of Florida Center for Implant Dentistry and the ITI scholarship program, Dr. Martin has spent decades mentoring clinicians who return to their communities to teach, lead, and share what they’ve learned.
As he shared, in life we all search for purpose, and for him that purpose has been caring for patients, mentoring and educating the people around him.
Seeing those scholars step onto stages of their own is one of the most rewarding parts of that journey.
That’s the kind of impact that continues to shape the future of implant dentistry.
