Chicago Home Prices Rise as Fewer Homes Hit the Market
It’s been an interesting spring for Chicago real estate. Active listings have dropped by 6% and new listings are down 7.5%, which means there are simply fewer homes available for buyers to choose from. In turn, we’re seeing median list prices up by 5.4%, hitting $395,000. Homes aren’t lingering—on average, they’re selling in just 36 days, and there are fewer price cuts than what we’re seeing in many other parts of the country.
