At our 41 Cristo Rey schools, back to school doesn't just mean new classes... it also means gearing up for students' first day on the job.

Every Cristo Rey student spends one day a week working a real, professional job through our unique Corporate Work Study program, developing professional skills while earning a significant portion of their own private education costs.

We believe in our students, and so do our partners. It shows: students who earn strong marks from their workplace supervisors are 32% more likely to graduate college, regardless of GPA.

What an incredible few days in Atlanta!

More than 130 passionate professionals from across the country came together at Georgia Institute of Technology for the Cristo Rey Network’s 2026 Summit on College Success. Together, we engaged in energizing conversations, exchanged ideas, built meaningful connections, and explored ways to strengthen college counseling, alumni advising, university partnerships, and college-going culture across our schools.

A heartfelt thank you to Georgia Tech and Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School for their warm hospitality; to Georgia Tech, Dabima, and Stonehill College for their generous sponsorship; and to our featured speakers: Rick Clark, Sofia Gonzalez M.Ed., MA, and Dr. Timothy Renick, for sharing their expertise and inspiring our community.

We left Atlanta energized and ready to keep opening doors for Cristo Rey students, to and through college and into meaningful careers!

This week, we welcomed 30 new teachers from schools across the Cristo Rey Network to our national office in Chicago for orientation and professional development. Together, our teachers spent time learning, collaborating, and preparing to deliver the rigorous academic experience our students need to thrive in college and beyond.

We’re grateful for their energy, dedication, and commitment to our mission as they prepare for an exciting school year to begin in just a few short weeks.

Exciting news! We're pleased to share the Cristo Rey Network Board of Directors has appointed Chief Mission Officer Rev. James G. Gartland, SJ as Interim President of the Cristo Rey Network, effective August 1.

Last week we welcomed our inaugural class of Corporate Work Study Leader Fellows to Chicago for a two day kick-off event. Leader Fellows engaged in programming centered around leadership development, enhancing Corporate Work Study programming, and much more!

We're grateful to our Fellows for their enthusiasm and commitment to creating meaningful CWS opportunities for both students and partners across the Cristo Rey Network!

Last week the Cristo Rey Network hosted students from around the network for the Student Union for Mission Alliance (SUMA) conference.

A big shoutout to Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee and Marquette University for welcoming our 34 students and their chaperones for an incredible few days of collaboration, student leadership development, and meaningful connection.

We loved seeing our students learn from their peers and build new friendships and memories along the way!
