On March 26th and 27th, Guarneri Hall audiences experienced the Formosa Quartet’s imaginative “Chicago Time Machine,”a set of five pieces following prominent figures of jazz, gospel, and blues. Pictured in this clip is “Mannish Boy”by Muddy Waters, arranged for the ensemble by violinist Jasmine Lin.

This month, we celebrate the birthday of Sergei Prokofiev! Regarded as one of the most important composers of the 20th century, he wrote ballet suites, orchestral and symphonic works, but his favorite was composing opera. In this clip, his Sonata for Solo Violin is performed by Claire Wells.
