Your Thunderbird profile stores more than email. It also contains important settings that help Thunderbird work as expected.

Before creating a backup:

✅ Close Thunderbird completely
✅ Open Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Folder
✅ Copy the entire profile folder to a separate drive or location
✅ Date the backup and keep it away from the active profile
