Don't let your MCEE party disconnect! Follow these simple tips to keep the tunes flowing all night long:
• Turn on Guided Access on your iPhone/iPad to restrict your device to a single app and keep the connection to Spotify stable.
• Use an iPad or iPhone that doesn’t need to be used during the party to ensure the connection remains uninterrupted.
• If the connection breaks, Spotify will start pulling random songs from your recommended playlist, and it won’t follow the queue correctly.
• Only the host needs to put their device in Guided Access, while guests can easily exit in and out of MCEE!
• If you exit the app while hosting a party, you’ll need to manually skip to the next song in MCEE after a song ends to update the queue.

Guided Access ensures that your device stays focused on the music and nothing else, so you can keep the party going without interruptions. In September 2022 Spotify phased out support for their mobile streaming SDK and forced developers to adapt their iOS and Android applications to the App Remote SDK, which offloads playback complexity to Spotify. This meant that Spotify needs to be operating in the background, making it imperative that MCEE is not interrupted by other applications on a host device. We apologize for this inconvenience as a host, and we are working tirelessly to find a better solution.

In just T-7 days, on Wednesday, March 29th, MCEE will be officially launched on the Apple App Store. It's been a journey of ups and downs, filled with countless pivots and nine long months of tireless development. But despite the challenges, we persevered, and we couldn't have done it without the unwavering support of our friends, family, and the incredible Boston College community.
