Below Average Running
because you don't have to be fast to run
12 mile long run vlog!!
& don’t tell me you have to train in the rain bc you never know on race day! My first marathon it rained for the majority of the race. I can do a marathon in the rain & no I will not train in the rain when I can avoid it!!
Watching this back, it’s just chaos & me tricking my brain that it’s not that much more running to do but in fact there were many more miles to do😂
Overall, not a great run. There were alot of positives & that’s what I’m focusing on!
It’s over, & we move forward!!
Excited for this weeks deload long run of 6.5!! What a treat!!

Long run Friday!!!
*disclaimer, this is BELOW AVERAGE RUNNING, please use your context clues before you make a comment about my pace*
Today really was BAR’s motto of EMBRACE THE PACE
Anyways well that was a rough one.
Started off getting poured on & just my feet were already soaked so I knew that would be fun to deal with in a couple hours LOL.
This run was interesting because the whole time I was mentally strong & locked in. At no point did calling it early, stopping or walking crossed my mind. I probably seemed crazy because I just sing the same verse to songs out loud to stay distracted (today was Michael Jackson’s song, a place with no name - I get this is insane but idc because these things keep me focused)
Also I nailed fueling & hydration today! 3 gels in & hate to admit it but I don’t think I’ve ever successfully done 3 gels in any training run. Hydration was great today because of the rain, temps were lower & I could actually maintain hydration.
Now what went wrong?? Well I couldn’t really tell you but my body just felt like bricks the whole time. I couldn’t get my body to go faster. I felt like I was running a certain pace to just see 13 & 14 min miles. I couldn’t get my body to go & it is what it is.
After last weeks really strong 11 miles, I’m not surprised by this. My runs all week were meh & it happens. Now this run was suppose to be playing with some paces but I did that last week (unintentionally) so I’m not stupid to try & do that again.
You know the run felt like it was never going to end but mentally I was fine.
It’s done, we move forward & focus on the next workout at hand!!
Idk maybe donuts are a great pre run breakfast.
Scotty’s Donuts , I love you the most, especially your blueberry donuts.
Anyways I’m back in hot & humid Miami. It was nice while it lasted.
11 MILES DONE & DUSTED!!
I wish I could accurately show you how gnarly some of the hills I climbed😂
Anyways another run stronger !!

WEEK 6 LONG RUN✅✅
11 miles !!! First double digit run since February of 2025🥹
I really surprised myself with this one. First off I had did my normal carb loading Friday in preparation for long run Saturday but I flew to PA this weekend & as we know there was horrible air quality BUT grateful for the cooler temps🥹
So run got pushed to Sunday (which personally I hate doing LR on Sundays) so another day of carb loading, constant hydration etc & to top it off I was out until about 2am Saturday night LOL.
SO with about 4 hours of sleep, choking down breakfast pre run & knowing I was going to have a hilly journey ahead of me, I really was not in the mood.
SO what do I do when that happens, I gas light the living s**t out of myself, only allow positive mindset while running & constantly playing mind games to have the run go by faster.
The good thing about this run was there wasn’t much down hill (good for my knee) the bad thing was I just kept climbing but everytime there was another hill, I just had to laugh, put my head down & get over it(aka gas lighting).
The whole run was oh your about 35% done now which means 65% left which means a little over an hour of hard work left, that’s just a few episodes of a show. Oh now you’re 50% done which means the climb is over now we start counting down!! Oh 85% left which means 20 ish min of hard work left, that’s not bad. Constantly remaining positive & tricking my brain.
I’m ngl the run was awesome but it was challenging. I rarely train hills so my quads were crying but mentally I knew I had it. Absolutely nailed fueling & hydration & my paces were pretty consistent plus I had way more in the tank to give. Lastly, grateful for my in laws who biked with me the whole time helping to keep me distracted on the pain of the hills.
I really surprised myself with this one & im thrilled with my efforts. I have a big goal for Chicago (which idk if I’ll announce it mostly bc it genuinely scares me) This week I continue to build & the focus is one run at a time!
No actually I feel like I’m melting or I’m just gonna burst into flames

July 2023 I hosted my first run day with FP Movement & I find myself often thinking, how lucky am I that this is apart of my life.
I’m forever grateful for FP movement in always supporting not only myself but the entire running community. There are never enough words to express how thankful I am for these experiences.
