If you are interested in our church or church in general then join us this Sunday at 9:30AM as we continue our membership class. We will be discussing what it means to be a church member as well as baptism (which happens to coincide with us having our first ever creek baptism in Goose Creek).

Our regular church service will begin at 10:30AM. If you are looking for a church all are welcome.

Maybe the past few days have brought up questions in your mind or a void in your heart. Maybe you aren't sure what to make of the evil and chaos in the world today. For some, maybe you have been away from the church for a while and now you recognize you must be a part of a healthy church. Or maybe there are others that have questions about church in general or our church specifically. If you have questions join us tomorrow at 9:30AM for the membership class and 10:30AM for our worship service.

The local church testifies to the world of the grace and mercy of God through Christ. As Christians we are to not neglect the gathering of the Lord's day.

As JC Ryle said, “We should always regard communion with other believers as an eminent means of grace.”

Wherever you turn it seems there's a storm. It's on the news, it's in the culture, sometimes our homes, schools or the ball field. It can even be in the church. These storms of life can dampen our spirits, trouble our hearts, worry our minds. Yet for the Christian these storms can be used by God to draw us closer to Him. And we can be sure of the promise that God has given to us, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”.

This promise is true and will not be broken. God does not change so His word does not change. Numbers 23:19, "God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"

Be encouraged by this verse from "Christ the Sure and Steady Anchor" and join us this Sunday at 10AM. All are welcome!

Christ, the sure and steady Anchor
In the fury of the storm
When the winds of doubt blow through me
And my sails have all been torn
In the suffering, in the sorrow
When my sinking hopes are few
I will hold fast to the Anchor
It shall never be removed

God was the owner of the vineyard, who entrusted it to His people and repeatedly sent servants, the Old Testament prophets, to call the people to repentance. Yet they rejected, abused, and murdered the servants and continued in their persistent rebellion. Finally, God sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, whose rejection and death exposed their guilt and fulfilled Scripture concerning the rejected cornerstone. This parable also announced judgment. The vineyard was taken from unfaithful tenants and given to others. Friends and neighbors this is a warning and a call to honor Christ, repent, and bear fruit as faithful stewards of God’s grace and truth.

Friends and neighbors, look around! We are surrounded by the reality of man’s rebellion. Pictures and stories of violence, hatred, chaos, and lawlessness. To put it simply, sin is on full display and its consequences are devastating lives, families, churches and culture.

For far too long, too many of us who name the name of Christ have sat idly by. We have remained silent, allowing this rebellion to rage without uttering a passionate call to repentance. Without a doubt, if you are in Christ, your salvation is eternally secure by His finished work.

But what about the men and women sitting next to you at work, in the pew, or at the ball game who remain dead in their trespasses and sins. On the day of judgment we won’t have to answer for their sins, but be warned: we will have to answer for ours, including our silence, our failure to faithfully, obediently and urgently proclaim the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to sinners when God providentially gives us opportunity.

Don’t miss the moment! The patience of God toward sinners is not passivity; it is intentional, real, purposeful, wonderful mercy. God’s righteous restraint is meant to lead sinners to repentance. But be warned that His patience has a limit. A sinner must not mistake the absence of immediate judgment for God’s approval.

God’s judgment is deferred not because sin is ignored, but so that salvation might be proclaimed and that men, women and children might behold the glory of the life, death, and resurrection of King Jesus and trust in Him alone.

To reject God’s mercy and grace is to store up wrath. This is a warning, the very patience demonstrated to lead you to salvation will, if continually despised, become the final witness against you. You will be left, in your sin, without excuse before a holy God. Yes, God is extraordinarily patient with sinners. He gives time and opportunity for repentance. Yet, continued refusal to repent of sin is a dangerous abuse of that mercy. No one should wait for a “better time” to come to Christ.

For those still rejecting God, do not delay in repenting and believing in Jesus. Christian, do not delay in calling sinners to repent and believe in the good news of Christ.

Jesus had surveyed the temple the night before, but the time was not yet right to address the sin and wickedness. He waited until the next day to disrupt the corruption. He did so out in the open in front of everyone including the Jewish leaders.

There was purpose in His thought, speech and actions. He knew who He was, what He was doing, why He was doing it and where it would lead Him.

He was self-controlled, bold, courageous and prepared. Jesus was and is the model for the Christian in every way.
