We are a Foster based rescue in Blue Ridge, GA that pulls animals from high kill-shelters throughout the state and finds them loving homes.
Wet Noses Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit headquartered in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Founded in 2020 by Abe and Tracey Abrams, we are a foster based rescue that pulls animals from high kill-shelters in the Atlanta area and find them loving homes. While we have a variety of breeds, ages, and sizes, we focus on senior, special needs, small dogs, and puppies. We rely on a volunteer network to help with our lifesaving work. Volunteers provide transportation (aka Freedom Rides) from county animal shelters to the rescue. Once an animal arrives, they receive full medical care, a lot of love, and behavioral support as they adjust to their foster home.

Jackson is the son of Gypsy, who we introduced yesterday. ❤️ Both were surrendered together and are now beginning a whole new chapter of their lives.
When a dog is surrendered, they aren’t just leaving a home — they’re being removed from the people, routines, smells and environment they’ve known. It can be confusing and scary, and they may experience sadness and uncertainty while trying to understand what happened.
That’s why time, patience and compassion matter so much. Give them the opportunity to decompress, adjust and realize that their next chapter can be even better than the one they left behind. ❤️
Jackson is a very sweet, happy and affectionate boy with plenty of energy! He’s active, enjoys being around other dogs, and can also entertain himself. He would be a wonderful match for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and wants a fun, loving companion by their side.
Jackson has so much life and love left to give. He just needs someone willing to give him the time to realize he’s safe. 🐾❤️

Gypsy is still settling in and we’re taking our time getting to know her, but one thing we already know is that being 9 years old certainly hasn’t slowed this girl down! She has plenty of life, personality and energy left to share. 🥰
She may take a little time to warm up and learn to trust you, but once she does, she is affectionate and loves having her people close.
We think Gypsy would make a wonderful companion for someone who is home often and wants a loyal little sidekick. She just needs someone willing to give her the time and patience to let her beautiful personality shine. ❤️
Sometimes the dogs who need a little extra time to trust us end up becoming the ones who love us the hardest. 🐾

🆘🚨 URGENT DONATIONS NEEDED TO BUY DOG FOOD‼️‼️🚨🆘
We hate having to make posts like this, but right now we need to ask our Wet Noses family for help.
We are OUT OF MONEY for food.
Between the emergency medical cases, veterinary bills, surgeries, dentals, medications, and all of the unexpected expenses that come with taking in dogs who desperately need us, every available dollar has gone toward keeping our dogs alive and getting them the medical care they need.
And now we have another very basic need:
🥺 DOG FOOD.
Our dogs still need to eat every single day, regardless of how high the vet bills are.
We cannot save these dogs if we can’t feed them.

Kane is a 5-year-old Pomsky who has joined us as an owner surrender and is now looking for his next chapter. 🐾
He’s a sweet guy who is good with dogs, cats, and kids, and we’re looking forward to getting to know his personality even better as he settles into rescue.
Kane is not completely house trained yet, so his new family will need to be patient and willing to continue working with him as he learns.
Being surrendered is a big change for any dog. Their home, familiar people, routine, and surroundings can all change at once, and it can take some time for them to understand that they are safe and loved. They experience grief & confusion but we will be giving him all the decompression time he needs along with lots of love & care. His Furever Family is out there somewhere!!!💙
We’re going to give Kane the time, patience, structure, and love he needs while he adjusts. ❤️

🩵💙💚 $5 FRIDAY — WHAT DOES YOUR $5 REALLY DO? 💚💙🩵
It helps a dog who was neglected finally see a veterinarian.
It helps feed a dog who once went without.
It helps pay for the dental on a mouth that has been hurting for years.
It helps get a terrified dog transported somewhere safe.
It helps provide emergency care when a rescue dog suddenly needs us NOW.
It helps with grooming when a coat has become so severely matted that the dog can’t be comfortable.
It helps pay for surgery, medications, rehabilitation and all of the things that happen behind the scenes after a dog is rescued.
Because this year, like every year, we’ve answered the call for dogs from cruelty cases, neglect cases, hoarding cases, surrenders, abandonment cases and situations where there simply wasn’t anyone else coming for them.
And every single dog comes with a story.
But they also come with a bill.
Veterinary bills.
Emergency bills.
Food bills.
Transport bills.
Grooming bills.
Dental bills.
Surgery bills.
Rehabilitation bills.
The list never stops.
Neither does the need.
That’s why we’re asking for $5 today.
Not $500.
Not $5,000.

Because when hundreds of people each give a little, those little gifts become the money that allows us to keep opening our doors to the next dog who desperately needs us.

🇺🇸🐾 NEVER FORGET. 🐾🇺🇸
On September 11, 2001, thousands of heroes answered a call they never expected.
Among them were four-legged heroes who searched tirelessly through the rubble of Ground Zero, working alongside their handlers to find the missing and bring hope to an unimaginable scene.
They didn’t understand terrorism.
They didn’t understand tragedy.
They only knew they had a job to do.
Search. Find. Comfort.
Some searched for survivors.
Some searched for those who never made it home.
And some simply offered comfort to the exhausted, grieving people around them.
Today, we remember all of the lives lost, the families forever changed, the human heroes who ran toward the danger—and the incredible dogs who served beside them. ❤️
As an animal rescue, we know every day just how extraordinary the bond between humans and animals can be.
On this day, we honor that bond.

This tiny 9-year-old hairless Chihuahua has had her whole world turned upside down after her mom could no longer care for her. She’s understandably scared, confused, and trying to figure out what comes next.

When Corona first came to us, she was scared, confused, and understandably unsure about this whole new world she had been thrown into. Her mom could no longer care for her, and suddenly this tiny 9-year-old girl was trying to figure out what happened to her life.
But then something magical happened…
She got TIME.
She got PATIENCE.
She got SAFETY.
And most importantly… she got LOVE. ❤️
This little hairless nugget is discovering that she can be silly. She can be goofy. She can make people laugh. She can be HERSELF.
We were told she was afraid of men, but she did just fine with Abe! So we think this little girl is still figuring out who she can trust and learning that maybe humans aren’t all that bad after all. ❤️
She’s 9 years old, tiny, adorable, and apparently has a BIG PERSONALITY PACKAGED INTO A VERY SMALL, HAIRLESS BODY. 😂❤️
She just needs someone who will continue giving her the patience and security she deserves while she blossoms into this hilarious little character we’re getting to know.
Because sometimes rescue isn’t about changing a dog.
It’s about giving them enough time and love to finally show you who they were all along. 🥹❤️

Our most handsome, happiest, sweetest little special-needs boy.
Sid has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which affects his coordination and gives him his adorable little wobble. But here’s what Sid wants you to know:
HE DOESN’T KNOW HE’S DIFFERENT. ❤️
He just knows he LOVES LIFE.
He loves adventures.
He loves walks.
He loves car rides.
He loves snuggles.
And he REALLY loves giving kisses. 💋
Sid is happy, healthy, playful and full of so much JOY that you can’t help but smile when you’re around him.
His legs may wobble…
but his heart NEVER does. ❤️
He doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for him.
He needs someone who will say:
“I don’t care that you wobble. I see YOU. And you’re my boy.” 🥹🏡❤️

When Taffy first came to us from that horrific hoarding case, she was terrified of humans. She wouldn’t let us touch her. She didn’t understand that hands could be gentle, that people could be kind, or that she was finally safe.
So we waited.
We gave her time.
We gave her space.
We gave her patience.
And most importantly… we gave her love. ❤️
And slowly, she started to trust us. 🥹
Now look at this beautiful little girl after her much-needed grooming! ✂️❤️ She has come SO FAR.

Taffy is still learning how to trust. If she becomes frightened by something, she could bolt and get away from you. Her safety has to come first, which is why we will only consider a home with a secure, fenced yard.
She doesn’t need someone to “fix” her.
She needs someone who will keep believing in her. ❤️
Someone who will celebrate the little victories.
Someone who understands that trust doesn’t happen overnight.
Someone who will show her, every single day, that the world isn’t a scary place anymore.
Because this girl has already shown us what she’s capable of. 🥹❤️
