Informative CLEs are making a splash at Summer Sizzlin’ CLE this Friday, June 26! Join us at Walk-On’s on Burbank for an afternoon packed with practical insights designed to help young attorneys build their practice and sharpen their skills.

Hear from Professor Tracy Norton on the ethical and practical use of AI, Judges Calli Boudreaux and Louise Hines on lessons every young lawyer should learn from the bench, and Judge Guy Holdridge with updates on comparative fault and civil procedure. Plus, gain valuable insight from our sponsor, Dr. Gerald Bell, on commonly overlooked findings that can undermine case valuation.

Stick around after the program for complimentary drinks at happy hour and bring school supply donations to support the YLS Adopt-A-Class initiative. Learn something new, connect with colleagues and help make a difference while you’re there. Register at https://brba.org/BRBA/Fund_Raising_Events/Event_Display.aspx?EventKey=YLS260626

The Baton Rouge Bar Association was honored to host the Investiture of Judge Caulette Jackson Guillard and officially welcome her to the Baton Rouge judicial family.

Surrounded by colleagues, family, friends and members of the legal community, the ceremony was a meaningful celebration of Judge Guillard’s commitment to public service and her new role serving families in our community.

It was a privilege for BRBA to present Judge Guillard with her judicial robe, marking the beginning of this next chapter on the bench.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the ceremony such a beautiful and memorable occasion.

Congratulations, Judge Jackson Guillard, and welcome to the Baton Rouge judicial family.

If located, kindly remind them:
✨ Rooms at the Emerald City (the Lodge at Gulf State Park) do not reserve themselves.

Cocktails with the Court is always a special opportunity to bring together members of the bench and bar, but the highlight of the evening is seeing our judges recognize the law clerks and staff members who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support the courts every day. We were honored to celebrate their contributions and hear the judges share their appreciation for the people who help make their work possible.

Congratulations to Brad Cranmer, recipient of this year's Judge Joseph Keogh Award, recognizing outstanding service to the legal profession.

A special thank you to the Young Lawyers Section for hosting this meaningful event, to the judges who took time from their busy schedules to participate and to our generous sponsors for helping make the evening possible. Your support allows us to continue fostering the collegiality and connections that strengthen our legal community.

As Louisiana's legal and regulatory landscape continues to evolve, staying informed on legislative developments remains critical. Andre Bellefontaine and Dylan Scully recently contributed to the Baton Rouge Bar Association's May/June 2026 edition of The Baton Rouge Lawyer with an article analyzing recent amendments to Act 312 and their implications for oilfield legacy lawsuits. Their discussion highlights key changes that may affect future environmental remediation and energy litigation matters in Louisiana.
