Meet Betsy, Human Resources Specialist at Louisiana Economic Development.

Supporting employees takes organization, knowledge and a genuine commitment to helping others feel seen and heard.

From onboarding new team members and managing timekeeping and course tracking to answering questions about insurance and retirement, Betsy serves as a trusted resource for employees across LED. She also supports the interview process, which has given her an opportunity to learn more about the roles and people contributing to LED’s mission.

Betsy began her career at LED as an administrative coordinator, dividing her time between fiscal and human resources responsibilities before transitioning fully into HR. Although she studied visual arts and photography, she found an unexpected and rewarding career path in helping others thrive.

For Betsy, the most meaningful part of her role is solving problems, answering questions and making someone’s day a little better. Her goal is to help employees feel supported and empowered to grow throughout their careers.

Fun fact: After three years in the adoption process, Betsy and her husband drove 12 hours through the night to Kansas City to meet their daughter. Today, she is the light of their lives.
