Our mission is to feed people experiencing hunger in Baton Rouge & surroundings parishes. When it comes to senior hunger, Louisiana is third in the nation.
Did you know that 1 in 7 people experience food insecurity in Louisiana? Louisiana leads the nation in childhood hunger too, with 1 in 5 children being food insecure. The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank has been working to reduce these statistics since 1984. As an affiliate of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks and food rescue organizations, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank provides food to more than 100 partnered agencies across our 11-parish service area. In 2021, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank distributed over 16.7 million meals. If you’d like to help grow this number, just $1 can help to provide up to 3 meals.

Thank you to Hunters for the Hungry Louisiana for hosting another successful Clean Out Your Freezer Day!
This year, 4,510 pounds of protein was donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and will be distributed to help provide meals to our community. We’re grateful for everyone who attended and donated!

Thank you to Alliance Safety Council for hosting a Canstruction event! Construction, PALA Group, Inc, and Ascension Roofing and Fabrication - JRE, LLC participated and donated 3,600 cans of non-perishable food to the Food Bank. These generous donations will help feed families in need.
