For new supervisors, team leads, and employees who are stepping up into their first leadership role and want to build the confidence and skills to lead people well.

Leadership in Action: Success Labs Partner Melissa Thompson led a workshop on Communication and Behavioral Preferences using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), plus a session on moving from doer to leader, at Shintech’s Supervisor Summit — a day-long investment in leadership for supervisors from across the facility.
Leaders from all areas of the facility came together to grow, hear updates from VP of Manufacturing Danny Cedotal, and invest in their own development. 💡
A few things stood out in the room:
→ Understanding your own communication style — and others’ — changes how you lead.
→ MBTI gave the group a shared language for working better together.
→ Moving from doer to leader isn’t just a skill set — it takes real intention.

Notice how “confident” and “strategic” land differently coming from a woman than a man? So does Adrian.
In this clip, she talks about a pattern she sees constantly in strengths debriefs: women hesitating to claim strengths that could read as bragging, in a way their male colleagues rarely do. It’s not a flaw in the assessment — it’s a bias worth naming out loud.
Adrian’s take: claiming a strength out loud isn’t vanity, it’s clarity.

It takes the same amount of effort to be excellent when you focus on your strengths as it does to be mediocre when you are focused on your weaknesses.

Leadership in Action: Success Labs Partner Adrian Owen Jones facilitated the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation Nonprofit Leaders' Fellowship — a hands-on intensive for nonprofit leaders working hard on the good stuff: vision, culture, succession, and how to lead well without burning out.
We're proud to support nonprofit leaders across Baton Rouge doing this important work.

“Isn’t this just a horoscope?” It’s a question Adrian and Melissa hear constantly, and it deserves a real answer.
In this clip, they draw the line between a stereotype and a generalization: a stereotype flattens the individual in front of you, a generalization gives you a starting point for understanding them. Every assessment on the show only works when you remember which one you’re using.

A personality assessment can tell you a lot about someone. Whether they should keep their job isn’t one of them.
In this clip, Adrian explains the difference between a diagnostic tool and an evaluative one — these assessments measure tendencies, not performance, and leaning on one to justify a termination stretches it well past what it was built to do.
