📢 Our Voice Matters. Our Representation Matters.
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Metropolitan Baton Rouge Chapter strongly opposes SB 116, SB 121, and SB 130 — proposed legislation centered around the redistricting of Louisiana congressional districts that threatens to dilute Black voting power and weaken fair representation across our state.
Redistricting should protect democracy — not manipulate it.
It should ensure every community has an equal opportunity to be heard — not silence the voices of Black voters who have fought for generations to secure equitable representation.
These efforts are not just about maps. They are about power, access, and whether Black communities will have a meaningful seat at the table where decisions are made about education, healthcare, economic opportunity, infrastructure, and justice.
We proudly support SB 407, legislation that supports fairness, accountability, and equitable representation for Louisiana citizens.
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. has long advocated for racial and social justice, recognizing the direct impact discriminatory systems and policies have on Black communities.
We call on our community to remain vigilant, informed, and engaged.
🖤 Attend hearings.
🖤 Contact your legislators.
🖤 Educate your networks.
🖤 Vote in every election.
Our ancestors fought too hard for the right to vote and the right to representation for us to remain silent now.

Members of the Metropolitan Baton Rouge Chapter proudly attended the Junior League of Baton Rouge’s Annual Meeting & Passing of the Gavel, joining in an evening that celebrated leadership, legacy, and service in our community.
Congratulations to our Coalition Sister, Neshana Bilbrew, on her installation as the organization’s 95th President. She also makes history as the 5th African American woman to hold this distinguished role—an achievement that reflects both her dedication and the continued progress of women in leadership.
We also celebrate Coalition Sister Jude A. H. August on her installation as Vice President of Training and Development, where she will help shape and strengthen the next generation of leaders.
Moments like these remind us of the power of sisterhood, service, and collaboration. We are incredibly proud of our sisters and the meaningful impact they continue to make across the Baton Rouge community. We look forward to supporting their leadership and witnessing all they will accomplish in the year ahead.
