WASHINGTON, D.C./ISLAMABAD — In a significant step toward enhancing economic cooperation between the United States and Pakistan, the U.S.–Pakistan Trade Organization (USPAKTO) held a high-level joint virtual meeting between its U.S. and Pakistan Chapters, bringing together business leaders, trade experts, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to discuss avenues for expanding bilateral trade, investment, and commercial partnerships.

The meeting served as a strategic platform for dialogue on trade policy, market access, investment opportunities, and business collaboration, reflecting the growing commitment of both chapters to strengthening economic ties between the two countries. Participants emphasized the importance of fostering sustainable partnerships capable of creating long-term benefits for businesses, investors, and entrepreneurs on both sides.

The session was led by Rauf Khan, Founder Chairman of USPAKTO, alongside prominent members of the U.S. Chapter, including Aisha Khan, Fazal Khaliq, Hafiz Habib Ullah, Gulsher Sahi, Moazzam Sahi, Professor Zulfiqar Cheema, and other organizational representatives. The Pakistan Chapter was represented by Rashid Humayun Khan, Chairman of USPAKTO Pakistan Chapter, Naeem Siddiqui, Chairman Advisory Board, and several distinguished business leaders and professionals from across Pakistan.

Opening the discussion, participants highlighted the growing importance of strengthening commercial relations between Washington and Islamabad at a time when global supply chains, digital economies, and international trade patterns are undergoing rapid transformation. Members noted that Pakistan possesses significant potential in sectors such as information technology, software development, artificial intelligence, agriculture, textiles, value-added manufacturing, fintech, and digital services, all of which present promising opportunities for U.S. investors and business partners.

During the meeting, Naeem Siddiqui presented a comprehensive overview of Pakistan’s economic landscape and industrial capabilities. He emphasized the need for stronger business-to-business engagement, strategic investment partnerships, and practical mechanisms that can facilitate greater market access for Pakistani exporters in the United States. He also highlighted the importance of creating warehousing and distribution facilities across key U.S. markets to support Pakistani products and improve supply-chain efficiency.

Addressing the participants, Rauf Khan underscored USPAKTO’s commitment to serving as a bridge between the business communities of both nations. He stressed that enhanced collaboration in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship could unlock substantial economic opportunities while contributing to job creation, investment growth, and increased bilateral trade volumes. He further called for simplifying trade procedures and establishing stronger commercial networks capable of connecting businesses directly with prospective partners and investors.

Several participants shared insights regarding emerging market trends, investment opportunities, and the role of private-sector leadership in advancing economic cooperation. Discussions also focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), promoting cross-border innovation, facilitating technology transfer, and encouraging joint ventures between American and Pakistani companies.

Chairman Rashid Humayun Khan praised the efforts of the U.S. Chapter in advancing the organization’s mission and strengthening institutional coordination. He proposed a structured roadmap that includes regular virtual meetings, joint business conferences, trade delegations, sector-specific forums, and business matchmaking initiatives designed to generate measurable commercial outcomes. He emphasized that sustained engagement between stakeholders would be essential for translating dialogue into tangible economic results.

Participants unanimously agreed on the importance of maintaining regular communication and establishing actionable frameworks for collaboration. Among the key proposals discussed were the development of joint B2B platforms, enhanced networking opportunities, trade promotion initiatives, and coordinated efforts to identify sectors with high growth potential for bilateral investment.

The meeting concluded with a strong reaffirmation of USPAKTO’s vision to serve as a catalyst for economic growth, trade expansion, and strategic partnership between the United States and Pakistan. Members from both chapters expressed confidence that continued cooperation and engagement would contribute to stronger commercial relations and create new opportunities for businesses operating in both markets.

As global economic dynamics continue to evolve, USPAKTO leaders reiterated their commitment to building a robust platform that supports innovation, investment, and entrepreneurship while advancing the shared goal of greater prosperity through enhanced U.S.–Pakistan economic cooperation.
