This past Saturday, our 2026 GIL cohort got in the spirit of the World Cup by wearing jerseys of the teams they are rooting for, and by participating in a sports-inspired session led by Janet Sevilla '21.
They learned about Building Communities Through Partnerships, facilitated by Janet, and Financial Literacy, led by Maria McChesney '24. Along with an interactive session, Janet gifted cohort members sticker books from the upcoming World Cup.
GALEO CEO Jerry Gonzalez and our Director of Civic Engagement, Darrick Alvarez, also stopped by to talk with the cohort.

There are two ways you can be part of our upcoming Latino Leaders Summit this August, all while growing professionally and helping your community thrive! โจ๐ฑ
๐๏ธ Lead as a Facilitator: Share your knowledge by leading a session in English or Spanish across Professional Development, Civic Education, Tech, or Leadership Development.
๐๏ธ Join as an Attendee: Learn from local experts on issues that impact your community and connect with others who are also motivated to invest in themselves.
If you have the knowledge, skills, or experience to share, we'd love to hear from you. And if you're ready to learn, connect, and grow, we want you there!
