Same pricing as yesterday: Each flat (8 cartons = 8 lbs) is just 1 unit at FoodCommune -- $4 ($3 for Prepays).

This pricing comes to just $0.50 per carton ... $0.37 per carton for Prepays ... soooo much lower than retail price of $4.00 per carton! 🤸

These 4 pics here are from yesterday afternoon, Saturday 8/22, 3--4p -- unloading 6 pallets of STRAWBERRIES from a 53' truck.

Thank you Josh, CJ, and Brian for doing this work of unloading, just in time for our distribution that day 5--9p. 💪

We received 6 pallets total.
Each pallet has 6 stacks, each stack 20 flats tall.
20 flats/stack x 6 stacks = 120 flats per pallet.
120 flats/pallet x 6 pallets = 720 flats total.

8 cartons/flat x 720 flats = 5,760 cartons total.
Each carton is 1 lb.
5,760 total lbs of STRAWBERRIES is nearly 3 tons! 😱

Progress report: Of the 6 pallets that we received from the trucker, we got just 1 pallet gone yesterday. 5 pallets still available!

Farmer Rodrigo got his truck loaded full ... Thank you Candace, Lyn, Josh, and CJ for helping to load all this food leftover from our Saturday 8/22 distribution. 💪

The 10 pallets of food that we rescued on Thursday afternoon: What is left of it, after people got some at our Thursday and Friday 5--9p distributions ... and also after being outdoors in the heat for 48 hrs, ... will mostly NOT be good for people anymore. So it will be going to Farmer tonite. But you can pick thru and take any Strawberries, Organic blueberries, Asparagus, Limes, etc for FREE today 5--9p.

We are now offering an expanded, and relocated, pantry area beginning yesterday. 🥫

And our refrigerators inside the shed are full: almond milks, whole mushrooms, eggs, cheeses, frozen meats, etc. 🍄‍🟫 🧀

We will be doing 2 rescues today, so that tonite you can get:
1) FREE Mayfield gallons whole milk, and
2) FREE roti = Indian flatbreads.

22 milk crates = 88 gallons milk will be available!
32 white bags of roti will be available!
