Start 2023 with NVBC Open tournaments. This time we are splitting our tournament into two division and on different weekends. We'll have Division C & D, Juniors and Senior event on Jan 7th & Jan 8th 2023. Division A & B Jan 27th - Jan 29th. Cash prize will be $20K+ for A & B Division.

2022 NORTHEAST OPEN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS was a great tournament for our kids. This was held in Long Island NY Oct 8-10 2022. Lot of lessons learned especially for our U11/U13 group. Our elite kids performed well. Thank to all the coaches and parents for the support. Lot of hard work ahead.

### Pan Am Junior Championships 2022 concluded Friday 22nd July in Santo Domingo, it was a week-long event in which 13 countries from the Pan Am region (Canada/USA/South America) competed against each other. There was close to 300 players. We are proud to say that two sisters from NVBA who represented team USA got to the podium. Kimaya won silver in U13 Singles and Kavya won bronze in U17 singles. We also want to congratulate the entire NVBA coaching team on this remarkable achievement.

Congrats to Team NVBA for putting up a great fight at 2022 U.S Junior National Championships at Frisco, Texas. The temperature was 100+ almost everyday for a week but our kids kept cool and fought hard. There is more work to be done and we'll come back stronger next year. It was windy outside in Illinois at the 2022 YONEX SPBA MIDWEST OPEN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS but our kids kept calm and played a great tournament. We where not that lucky in getting to the podium as much as we wanted to but it’s was a great experience for all our kids.

Come join the 2022 badminton summer camp at Northern Virginia Badminton Academy. The program will have drills, games, and instruction in both singles and doubles play. Kids will have the opportunity to experience playing games and to enhance the badminton skills. All players will learn or review scoring rules, footwork, strokes, and essential fundamentals of badminton. Participants should bring their own racquets and non-marking shoe. If the student signs up for both the morning and afternoon sessions, please bring a packed lunch.

We played our heart out in the 2022 SELECTION EVENT FOR PAN AM JUNIOR & WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS which happened in Frisco over the Easter weekend. Congratulations to Kavya Krishna & Kimaya Krishna for making it to Team USA for the PanAm tournament coming up this summer. Team NVBA is really proud of the kid’s performance and the support by the coaches and parents. Our best is yet to come, stay tuned.

It was an awesome weekend for NVBA players, we got the opportunity to spar with the elite kids of Triangle badminton Club from NC. We want to thank TBC for coming down to Virginia. We at NVBA really enjoyed hosting TBC players. Till next time.
