おかげさまで当ギャラリーもこの5月でまる10年になります。あっという間でしたが、アーカイブを見るとたくさんの作家さんに支えられて、これだけの展示ができたのかと、胸がいっぱいになります。展示してくださった皆様、お越しくださった皆様、本当にありがとうございました。どうぞこれからもよろしくお願いいたします。

10周年を祝うため、ギャラリーでは裏方に徹していたい私たちですが、珍しく自分たちの作品を飾って、皆様をお迎えしたいと思い、二人展を開催します。お立ち寄りいただき、皆様とこの10年を振り返り、さらにここから進んでいくヒントを得たいと思っています。ぜひおしゃべりしにきてください！

This May, the gallery marks it’s 10th anniversary. We are so grateful about all the support from the artists who had shows with us and the guests who came to see shows. It is overwhelming to look at the archive page of our website. We sincerely appreciate all the things that have happened over the years.

To celebrate the milestone, we who prefer to stay behind the curtains at the gallery, will hang our artwork on the walls to greet people and have conversations to look back and think about what’s to come for the gallery. We’re hoping to gain some new insights about our future. Please come and chat with us at this show!

Year End Group Show 2023　公募開始 call for artists

12/15(金)〜17(日)の3日間
今年も暮れてきました。皆さんと1年を振り返る恒例のグループ展を開催したいと思います。募集期間も展示期間も短いので、なるべく気軽に参加していただけるように考えました。新作旧作問いません、発表済みでも大丈夫です。郵送のみで参加できます。ハガキサイズからA5くらいの小品があれば、ぜひご応募ください！季節の挨拶として皆さんの1年を作品に託して発表してください。

参加費：無料（作品送料を往復ともにご負担いただくことをご了承ください）
メディア：自由
サイズ：作品自体はハガキサイズ〜A5くらい。額装済みの場合は額縁サイズがA4以下。目安はレターパックで送れるかどうかです。
参加方法：
①メールもしくはSNSのDMで参加表明をお願いします。
②送料分の切手を貼った返信用封筒を同封して、作品を郵送してください。
③タイトルカード用に＜題名／作家名／メディア／販売価格＞をメールしてください。（広報用に正方形にトリムした画像も一緒に送ってくださると助かります。期間が短いため印刷の広報物は作成いたしません。）
展示設営：設営はギャラリースタッフが行います。額装なしの作品は、紙作品なら磁石で、キャンバスやパネルの場合はプッシュピンで掛けて展示します。
搬出：展覧会終了後、ご用意いただいた返信用封筒にて作品返却いたします。
販売について：作品は販売可でお願いします。販売された場合、価格からギャラリー手数料40％を引いた額に使用しなかった返信用切手代をのせてご指定の口座に振り込みます。その際は直接ご連絡いたします。
締切：参加表明・タイトルカード用情報・広報用画像　12/8(金)　作品郵送　12/13(水)必着

It is the end of another year. We would like to hold our annual group exhibition to look back on this year. Since the application and exhibition period are short, we are trying to make it as easy as possible for you to participate. New or old works are all welcome. If you have a small piece of work, postcard size to A5, just mail in your work to participate! Let us hear your season’s greeting and/or year end message as an artwork.

Participation fee: Free (please note that you will be responsible for the postage of both sending and returning of your work)
Media: Any media welcome.
Size: Postcard size to A5. If the work is framed, the frame size should be A4 or smaller. (Fits into the LetterPack as per the guideline.)
How to participate:
(1) Please announce your participation by e-mail or DM on social media.
(2) Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope and mail your work.
(3) Please email us < title / artist name / media / price> for the title card. (It would be helpful if you could also send us a square trimmed image file for publicity purposes. Due to the short duration of the exhibition, no printed publicity materials will be made.)
Installation: The gallery staff will set up the exhibition. Unframed works on paper will be hung with magnets. Canvas or panels will be hooked with push pins.
Deinstallation: After the exhibition, the works will be returned using the return envelope provided.
Selling: If you sell your work, the gallery will take 40% of the gallery's commission from the price. We will reimburse any unused postage stamps. We will contact you directly to ask for the preferred payment method.
Deadline: Declaration of participation, information for title card, images for publicity 12/8(Fri.), works must arrive by mail 12/13(Wed.)

CAMERON PEAGLERの個展「黒金」"BLACK GOLD"を、2023年08月11日(金)～21日(月)　(15日～17日は定休日のため休廊)13:00～19:00に、横浜・石川町のLAUNCH PAD GALLERYにて開催いたします。

「「Black Gold "黒金"」は、留学する黒人学生の数を増やし、サクセスストーリーが語られることのない、日本在住黒人コミュニティのメンバーを称え、日本と黒人のコミュニティに、より強い関係を築くことを目的としています。このプロジェクトでは、日本全国で活躍する、30人以上の黒人のクリエーターや起業家のポートレートやインタビューを展示し、彼らがどのようにして成功したのか、日本での生活ついてや若者へのアドバイスなどをギャラリーで紹介してます。現実的な問題として、留学には経済的な障壁がつきものです。この展示での売上の100％は、ブラック・カレッジの学生が留学するための奨学金にあてられます。インタビューは日本語に翻訳されています。日本の黒人クリエーターや起業家の生活を直接紹介することで、日本と黒人のコミュニティにさらに強い絆を築くことができると信じています。

Black Gold “黒金” aims to increase the amount of Black students who study abroad, celebrate Black community members in Japan whose success stories are often unheard of, and create a stronger relationship between Japanese and Black communities. The project will include portraits and interviews of over 30 Black creatives and entrepreneurs throughout Japan. Galleries will also include interview questions on how they became successful, life in Japan, advice for youth, and more. Financial barriers are also a real issue to studying abroad. 100% of gallery ticket sales will be turned into a scholarship for Black college to students to study abroad. In Japan, the interviews will be translated into Japanese. I believe by providing a first hand look into the lives of Black creatives and entrepreneurs in Japan, stronger bonds can be built between the Japanese and Black communities.

ROBERT FUCHSの個展「下町散歩」"WALKING THROUGH SH*TAMACHI"を、2023年7月21日(金)～31日(月)　(25日～27日は定休日のため休廊)13:00～19:00に、横浜・石川町のLAUNCH PAD GALLERYにて開催いたします。

ロバートは東京在住の製図技師である。ドイツのバイエルンの森にある小さな村で生まれたが、今は東京を第二の故郷としている。隅田川と江戸川に挟まれた下町に住み、夜な夜な下町を散歩している。彼のドローイングのモチーフは、街歩きで出会った場所や建物である。

若い頃、ドイツの機械工場で工学製図の修行を積み、機械部品の設計や製造用の図面をトレーシングペーパー（または羊皮紙）に黒インクで描いていた。ロバートはこの技法を受け継ぎ、すべての原画を製図用ペンを使って耐水性の黒インクで描いている。

ロバートのドローイングのほとんどは、彼が散歩中に出会う暗い街を反映した暗い色をしている。彼は通常では見られない新たな文脈に、街歩きで出会った要素を組み合わせ、そこに新たな批評的意味を与えている。

Robert is a draftsman living in Tokyo. He was born in a little village in the Bavarian Forest in Germany, but he has made Tokyo his second home now. He lives in Sh*tamachi, the area between the Sumida River and the Edo River. Robert takes long walks through Sh*tamachi at night, and many of the elements in his drawings are existing locations or buildings he has encountered on his city hikes.

In his youth, Robert trained as an Engineering Draughtsman in a German machine factory designing machine parts and drawing plans for manufacturing on tracing (or parchment) paper in black ink. Robert has retained this technique, and all originals are drawn in water-resistant black ink using technical isograph pens.

Most of Robert’s drawings a dark reflecting the dark city he encounters during his hikes. Robert combines elements he meets into a new context in which they are usually not found, giving them a new critical meaning.

第1回目のコラージュワークショップはとても楽しいものでした。今月も開催します。前回参加できなかった方、今回はいかがでしょうか？一緒に作業するだけで、情報やテクニックを共有でき、気取らない雰囲気と方法がとても効果的でした。お時間あればぜひ！

数分でも、ずっといても大丈夫です。基本的な材料のご用意はありますが、使用する予定の材料（紙、雑誌、本、はさみ、テープ、のりなど）はご持参ください。

参加費は無料ですが、500円までのカンパをお願いします。皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。

Our first collage workshop was a lot of fun. This month features our second and we hope if you couldn't make the last one you can this time. We discovered informal works really well and that just working together enables us to share information and techniques. Swing on by if you can!

Join us for an afternoon of collage making. Stop in for a few minutes or stay for the whole time as we create collage, discuss techniques and share information! We prefer if you can bring your own materials (paper, magazines, books, scissors, tape, glue, etc) but we will have basic materials on hand for those who need it.

The event is free but any donation up to ¥500 would be appreciated! We look forward to seeing you!

スカーレット・ヨハンソン主演、ジョナサン・グレイザー監督による2013年のSFドラマ「アンダー・ザ・スキン」を一緒に鑑賞しましょう。スコットランドを舞台に、夢のような映像が満載のこの作品は、文字通り見知らぬ土地で見知らぬ人になることが何を意味するのかを探っています。魅惑的なほど静かなこの映画は、ストーリーというより雰囲気で見せる作品です。

映画終了後、45分間ほど映画についておしゃべりタイムを設けます、ぜひ語り合いましょう。

Join us to watch the 2013 sci-fi drama “Under the Skin” starring Scarlett Johanssen and directed by Jonathan Glazer. Set in Scotland and full of dreamy imagery, this film explores what it means to be a stranger in strange land, quite literally. Seductively quiet the film is more of a vibe than story.

We will have an open discussion when the film ends for 45 minutes.
