Blackstairs Community Playschool & Afterschool are recruiting a dedicated and motivated Aim Support Practitioner for 30 hours (6 hours per day) per week. This position will begin in September 2026. The successful applicant will have a friendly nature and a genuine interest in working with children.

The suitable candidate will be required to:
• Facilitate Inclusion - Assist children with additional needs to actively engage in daily pre-school routines, educational tasks, and social play alongside their peers.
• Implement Inclusion Plans - Work directly with the Room Leader and the setting's Inclusion Coordinator to deliver goals recommended by Better Start Early Years Specialists.
• Observation and Documentation - Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of child engagement to assist with compliance inspections and program reviews.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned with the Aistear curriculum.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Be involved in the day-to-day operations of the room
• Observe, document, and support children’s development
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards

What We’re Looking For
• Minimum Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
• Strong knowledge of the Aistear and Síolta frameworks.
• A genuine passion for working with children.
• Excellent communication & teamwork skills.
• Excellent knowledge of child development theories
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organised, reliable, and proactive
• Empathetic and passionate about early childhood care
• Behaviour Management - Practical experience in implementing positive, play-based strategies to support children’s emotional regulation and engagement would be beneficial but not essential.
