• ACUPUNCTURE FACIALS •

Perfect for those who don’t want to go down the b*tox route! ✨🧖🏼‍♀️🫧

As well as targeting areas of concern using acupuncture needles, Traditional Chinese Medicine points are specifically selected on the face and body to help with low energy, digestive issues, hormonal imbalance, headaches, sinus congestion, allergies, jaw tension and eye related problems. By solving inner health problems, the skin glows from the inside to out.

This is hands down one of the most relaxing facials you’ll experience, as they all include a deep tissue neck and shoulder massage, acupuncture to soothe your nervous system, face massage, gua sha, facial cupping, LED, ear seeds, scalp acupressure, natural/cruelty free products ✨

To find out more about what’s included in the facial packages I offer, please look under my PRICES highlight or find the breakdown under each facial on the booking system.

Nowadays, we often have fight-or-flight stress responses to things as like checking our emails, the phone ringing, conflict with those around us, being late for work, allergic reactions or hearing a loud noise. We feel stressed out, pressured, trapped and don’t know how to manage any of this 🙇🏼‍♀️

• COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE VS TOX AND FILLERS •

This post is not to put anyone off any of these treatments, or to bash people and their personal choices. It’s fine to go down whatever route suits you best. I do however think it’s important to be aware of alternatives if you are someone who doesn’t want to go down the btox and filler route.

Facial acupuncture is a safe, holistic and natural way to reduce signs of ageing. It provides clients with subtle beauty enhancements. Although cosmetic acupuncture isn’t an instant “quick fix”, there’s no surprise that this treatment is becoming increasingly popular as it doesn’t involve harsh chemicals or toxins ✨🌱

If you want to start your natural collagen boosting journey with me, but you are unsure of which facial to choose, send me a message and I will help to point you in the right direction 🤎

Pictures took ONE week apart?!

I had to share these amazing client results following ONE (🥹) acupuncture appointment. Me and my client are absolutely blown away with the results so far! I usually advise all skin clients to try at LEAST 12 consecutive appointments with me to see the best possible long term results.

How might acupuncture help with your skin concerns?

A WESTERN PERSPECTIVE:
• It may provide alleviate itching, discomfort and pain
• Acupuncture may help with stress levels and sleep issues which contributes to skin healing and inflammation
• Stimulates the blood flow to areas of concern which may lower inflammation and encourage healing
• Acupuncture may help with the bodies histamine response, helping with allergic skin reactions
• Local acupuncture points may reduce lesion size and help repair the skin barrier

A TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE PERSPECTIVE:
• In TCM, skin conditions can be caused by external and internal factors. We look at the body as a whole and consider: stress, diet, emotions, physical, lifestyle and environmental factors to get to the root cause of the problem
• Common diagnosis can be Pathogenic Factors (Damp, Heat, Fire, Dryness, Cold, Summer Heat, Wind) or can come from in internal imbalance within our organ systems (commonly Spleen, Lungs, Stomach, Liver)
• Skin conditions can be very complex when it comes to Traditional Chinese Medicine as everyone’s diagnosis are completely different. We are looking at healing the root cause of the problem to prevent the condition from flaring up
• In an initial acupuncture consultation I will go through an in-depth consultation including: medical/health history, lifestyle, diet, current symptoms/concerns, tongue and pulse diagnosis and come up with a treatment plan to help you heal your skin naturally

SKIN CONDITIONS I TREAT OFTEN IN CLINIC:
•Acne
•Eczema
•Psoriasis
•Hormonal breakouts
•Rosacea

If you are unsure where to start with your natural skin healing journey, book an INITIAL ACUPUNCTURE CONSULTATION (includes treatment) link is in my bio. Alternatively, you can send me a message to ask any questions 🤎

• FIRE CUPPING SELFIES 🤳🏼❤️‍🔥 •

Thank you to my wonderful clients for letting me share their cupping selfies!

People are often put off from having cupping because they have a misconception that it hurts, or that the markings left behind are painful bruises.

Bruises are caused by injury or trauma, whereas cupping marks are results of toxins, stagnant blood - they are brought to the surface to be cleared. These marks are a great diagnostic tool for us Chinese Medicine acupuncturists!

The darker the mark = the more stagnation/stasis in the body (meaning higher levels of toxins). The more you come for this treatment, the lighter the marks usually become 👏🏼

Cupping usually feels like a deep tissue massage for most people & is great for calming the nervous system 💆🏼‍♀️

If you are interested in this treatment but not sure it’s the right one for you, send me a message! Alternatively, you can book this treatment through the link in my bio.

Most importantly… don’t forget to tag me in your cupping selfies! 🤎

Whether you’re looking to heal your skin naturally, or you just want to take an hour out of your busy week to unwind and relax, I have a facial to suit everyone’s skincare needs 🧖🏼‍♀️🫧🧴🌱

• WHAT TYPE OF FACIAL IS BEST FOR YOU? •

• Acupuncture facials: perfect for those who don’t want to go down the b*tox route! This is hands down one of the most relaxing facials you’ll experience, as they all include a deep tissue next and shoulder massage ✨

• Micro-needling: can also be known ‘collagen induction therapy’! These needles are shallow compared to acupuncture facial needles but still stimulate collagen and elastin, improve hyperpigmentation, balance uneven skin tone, tighten and lift the skin.

• Lymphatic face massage: I designed this facial package for those who don’t want any needles. This treatment relieves muscle tension you didn’t realise was there! If you want sculpted cheekbones, a relaxed mind and an amazing lymphatic drainage treatment - this facial is for you.

To find out what’s included in each package, head over to my PRICES highlight. Alternatively, you can use the booking link in my bio.

For optimum results, block bookings are advised, 10% discount is offered for those who want to block book 6-10 sessions!

*please note - I’m almost fully booked for March, if you are a client of mine who needs regular appointments, please make sure you book in advance 🤎

02/03/2024

•E N D O M E T R I O S I S AWARENESS MONTH 🎗•

As we are in March, this marks endometriosis awareness month.

I wanted to stress the importance of spreading awareness for this condition, I see a huge amount of clients in clinic who suffer from the debilitating symptoms that unfortunately come with this condition.

Endometriosis is a women’s health problem where the lining of the womb grows outside of the uterus. This affects 1 in 10 women in the uk alone (this condition is almost as common as diabetes in women!)

Signs and symptoms may be:
• abdominal/pelvic pain
• painful periods (dysmenorrhoea)
• in*******se pain
• abnormal menstrual bleeding
• digestive troubles (IBS, bloating)
• fertility struggles

A laparoscopy is the most common way to diagnose endometriosis.

How might acupuncture help?
• reduced pain: acupuncture can reduce pain by increasing the release of our bodies natural pain killers (endorphins, dopamine, serotonin)
• decrease inflammation: a study has found that acupuncture can reduce CA-125 levels - this blood test is linked with high levels of inflammation and is usually elevated in endometriosis cases.
• improved immune function: studies have shown that acupuncture can increase our immune response & support our immune system
• decreased cellular Estrogen levels: one study has shown that acupuncture may suppress serum estradiol (a type of Estrogen). This hormone is high in endometriosis lesions cells. Estrogen stimulates endometriosis tissue growth, by suppressing this hormone, acupuncture may help to reduce lesion size & pain.

If you are suffering with this condition and would like some help, please send me a message or book in an initial acupuncture consultation so we can go through your whole health history and tailor a bespoke treatment plan to yourself 🤎

H E R B A L T E A 🌿🍵🌷

Chinese herbal teas are typically made from ingredients including dried flowers, seeds, leaves, dried fruit or roots.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), each of these teas have special healing properties, ranging from soothing sore throats to helping you sleep. I will always tailor herbal teas based on your TCM diagnosis if this is necessary to help you heal.

In this post I am drinking one of my favourite TCM blends, it contains:
🌷Rose buds: may be used for anti-ageing purposes, acne prone/oily skin, menopausal symptoms, stress/mental health, menstrual issues, digestion, and nervous system regulation
🍓Jujube: this is one of the top-grade medicinal herbs that had functions of nourishing Qi and Blood, increasing sleep quality and improving the digestive system
🍊Orange peel: one I recommend to clients a lot! This is great for tonifying the Stomach & Spleen in TCM and reducing Dampness
🍇Goji berry: *not in the picture but I have a huge love for adding these into my tea* In TCM, they are known to act positively on the Liver, Lungs and Kidneys because of their detoxifying properties

To start your Traditional Chinese Medicine journey, the best way to start is by booking an Initial Acupuncture Consultation so we can have a thorough chat about your symptoms/concerns 🤎

PS, that’s an old diary - I’m aware we are now in 2024 🤣

Results like this speak for themselves!? 🤯

My client has been attending consistent acupuncture/acupuncture facial appointments since July 2023. As my client did not want to go down the roaccutane route, we did everything we possibly could naturally to make sure he was confident in his skin again 🤎

How did we achieved these amazing results:
• Monthly acupuncture / SKIN BALANCE acupuncture facials (has attended 10 appointments in total)
• Understanding the root cause of his acne flare ups
• Tailored TCM nutrition advice (HUGE dietary changes in this case)
• Natural skincare recommendations
• Regular check ins between sessions

We are now working on scarring with micro-needling and keeping on top of monthly acupuncture to prevent any future breakouts. Consistency and hard work between sessions are mandatory when you are working with me. Healing your skin naturally takes time, but it is SO worth it in the end 👏🏼

Treating acne is something that will always be close to my heart after suffering with this myself, and healing organically through Traditional Chinese Medicine. If you feel you have tried everything in your power to heal your skin condition and you want to try a holistic *chemical free* approach, please send me a message 🌱🧴

*Client already tried lymecycline, epiduo and other topical treatments that had been prescribed through the GP but client discontinued due to lack of results*

Photos are aways posted with clients consent.

Side effects of using your gua sha weekly:
• Sculpted facial contours

• Reduction of facial puffiness (cheeks, chin, eyes)

I think these are risks we should all be willing to take 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

£21.50 for each gua sha if picked up from me in clinic or can be sent out in the post for an extra £2.50 ✨

The year of the Water Rabbit has passed, meaning Saturday 10th February 2024 marks the start of Lunar New Year - the year of the Wood Dragon 🐉

According to the Chinese zodiac, the year of the Dragon comes once every 12 years. The Dragon has a very high reputation in Chinese culture as it represents a year of Yang, symbolising strength, vitality, and new beginnings.

The Wood element is associated with the Liver and Gallbladder, this represents represents growth, expansion, and flexibility. It’s important to keep an eye on your emotional well-being and look after your Liver and Gallbladder health.

Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧🤎

It is no surprise that there has been HUGE popularity in ear seeds since it was aired on Dragon’s Den! I thought I’d do a post just to answer a few common questions I get asked about them ✨

I love using these in clinic for conditions, such as:
Anxiety
Depression
Fertility
Insomnia
Migraines
Pain
Stress

I have now added the option to book an ear seed consultation (including treatment & take home seeds) to the booking system.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to me before booking in, please send me a message 🤎

With a background of working in Dermatology in the NHS, and suffering with acne myself in the past, I have a special interest in treating skin conditions naturally through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) 🌱

I am seeing an increase of clients who are suffering with:
Acne
Eczema
Hormonal breakouts
Itchy skin
Psoriasis
Rosacea
Topical steroid withdrawal (TSW)

Acupuncture may significantly improve skin conditions, but complete cure depends on various factors such as the diagnosis, severity of the condition, individual response to treatment, lifestyle modifications and dietary changes.

That’s where I come in to provide guidance🙋🏼‍♀️ In an initial acupuncture consultation, an in-depth general health, medical history and physical examination is carried out, followed by a treatment plan.

For my client, we have come up with a bespoke treatment plan that includes:
•Natural skincare recommendations
•TCM dietary advice
•SKIN BALANCE acupuncture facials
•Weekly acupuncture

- This includes 10% discount. Please see DISCOUNTED PACKAGES under my PRICES highlight

Acupuncture has been said to help with skin conditions by:
•Helping to strengthen the body’s histamine response
•Reducing itch and pain
•Balancing stress and anxiety (these can be the trigger of skin conditions for most)
•Targeting the root cause of the problem, meaning a reduction of flare ups
•Reduction of skin lesion size

If you are suffering from any kind of skin condition, and would like to try acupuncture as a safe way of relieving your symptoms, you can book in for the initial acupuncture consultation (includes treatment - link is in bio). Alternatively, please send me a message so I can answer any questions you may have 🤎

Who said you need b*tox to look good?! 😆

With the pressures of social media, having facial amendments may feel extremely tempting, especially when everyone around you is having them (it’s absolutely fine if you choose to do this!). However, if you don’t want to go down this route, have you considered facial acupuncture?

My client comes to see me every month and alternates between micro-needling, acupuncture facials and lymphatic face massage. Her main concern is her forehead lines. These pictures were taken immediately before and after the ANTI-AGE & COLLAGEN BOOST acupuncture facial. We are blown away 🤯✨👏🏼

• WHATS INCLUDED •

Steam, cleanse, tone, exfoliation & anti-age mud mask
Facial acupuncture targeting problem areas
Bespoke TCM body acupuncture points to support ageing
Lymphatic face, neck and shoulder massage
Lifting gua sha, jade roller and facial cupping
LED light therapy to boost collagen
Ear seeds to release the ‘feel good hormones’

•5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT GUA SHA•

Gua sha originated in ancient China. It’s one of the oldest forms of Traditional Chinese medicine ever recorded, with historical records dating back to the Stone Age 🤯

1. I tend to use organic jojoba oil as this is friendly for those with acne prone, oily & congested skin.

2. If your skin doesn’t agree with oil, using gua sha with a cleanser in the shower is great as it provides more of a slip, whilst preventing breakouts.

3. This will be no surprise to most - Your gua sha can break if dropped! Please be careful when handling your gua sha, it is a natural stone/crystal and can shatter if dropped on a hard surface.

4. If you use your gua sha incorrectly, there is a chance you can create more sagging to the skin. Please message me if you need some gua sha routine videos sent over!

5. Gua sha has been used in China for thousands of years. It was predominantly used to scrape away illness, help manage diseases, promote circulation, and ease muscle pain. Gua = scrape, sha = sand, referring to the sand-like appearance of petechiae!

My new gua sha are flying through the doors, to secure yours please follow the link under the GUA SHA highlight on my page 🤩🤎✨
