That “dream job” email in your inbox might not be an opportunity, it could be someone ⚠️ stealing a recruiter’s identity to steal from you.
The email lights up your inbox like a ray of 💫 hope. A headhunter has identified you as a strong candidate for a job opening. The message shows familiarity with your résumé, and it even links to a legitimate LinkedIn profile. For all that, it’s a scam.
Cybercriminals are stealing recruiters’ identities to target job seekers for money or personal data. These scams are especially convincing because they use real information and avoid many of the red flags we’re used to spotting.
The reality is, this is happening more often than it seems, and many cases go unreported.
