Yesterday the SCS Sabercuddas competed at the CWOSSA championship meet. Several athletes raced to best times! It was a great way to end the season!

Bonhomme’s Lower Town Night Parade marks the official kick-off weekend of Carnival. Here’s a sampling of the truly spectacular 1.5-hour parade & street party full of music, dancing, Quebecois & other culture, fireworks, and more. Oh, what a time we had at our final event!

Sabre Quebec trippers have made it to the gorgeous, mini Chateau Frontenac-style Gare du Palais train station in QC to begin the long journey home. Many of us NEED sleep as we roll along the tracks today…😴

Snowshoeing across the historic site where the Battle of the Plains of Abraham took place in 1759 was memorable indeed. With apologies to many parents & guardians because once everyone set off, Mr. Dale could only get pics & videos of students in his assigned group while the others were further afield.

Bonhomme’s Ice Palace was full of Quebecois legends and lore rendered in ice (with a few animals escaped from the zoo and frozen!). Thanks to Tour Director, Katya, for sharing the sad tale of lost love & Montmorency Falls in the included video clip, where we were yesterday.

The Sugar Shack marked a perfect ending to our full day in the Beaupré area: two hours of hearty and simple traditional food, fiddling, clapping, dancing, learning about the history and importance of maple syrup & other maple products to Quebec, and warming up as a group by a fire. What fun!

Ice Hotel #2: interior shots of some of the 30 hotel rooms on offer, all of which are uniquely designed & carved by artists according to their chosen theme. By the end of our comprehensive tour, some Sabres were chilly - our school leader among them!😜 And on our way out, two of the boys just couldn’t resist trying the traditional maple taffy on snow. What a fun time we had at this uniquely Canadian site!🇨🇦✊🏼

Touring Valcartier’s internationally famous annual Ice Hotel ( #1). Pan of the front exterior; indigenous Wendat-style structure; wedding chapel; main entrance hall; the slide; a few of the many snow & ice sculptures; the Fairmont’s chill restaurant (yes, bad pun…); and some Shirley Temples, too.🤭
