You're invited to join us for a mesmerizing, free 'Rough Cut' this Friday.

-Imagine getting to experience an intimate, technically challenging, yet developmental, performance by two incredible musicians.

-Imagine the opportunity to hear from the artists about their creative development process, whilst they’re still immersed in it.

-Imagine the chance to help those artists develop further, through conversation and questions.

Rachel Fenlon and Edwin Huizinga are coming to the end of a week-long creative residency as they look to build out their creative work, together and as solo artists.

Rachel, who has family ties to Salt Spring, is an internationally-acclaimed soprano and pianist known for self-accompanied song recitals.

Edwin Huizinga is an artist, composer, improviser, educator, and artistic director whose work is rooted in connection. Moving freely between Baroque, folk, contemporary music, improvisation, and indie rock, he is drawn to the spaces where musical traditions meet—and to the human connections that make those encounters meaningful.

Those of us who have heard this develop through the week have been enthralled - this promises to be a special way to enjoy an hour on a Friday afternoon.

Watching the gallery transform from a bare space into a place that's colourful, thought-provoking and joyful is definitely one of the side-benefits of working at ArtSpring - and the Painters' Guild have achieved exactly that over the last couple of days.
