We love our pups - sometimes to death. Did you know excess weight shortens a dog's lifespan by up to two years and triggers chronic inflammation that leads to serious conditions like osteoarthritis and diabetes? https://pbxx.it/uCoegC

Fleas & Ticks: Truth or Myth?
Think your pet is safe? Think again.
Myth: “My pet doesn’t go outside, so they’re safe from fleas and ticks.”
Truth: Fleas and ticks can hitch a ride on shoes, clothing, or other pets and end up right in your home.
Myth: “I don’t see any bugs, so there’s no problem.”
Truth: Fleas and ticks are tiny and great at hiding. You might not see them until there’s an infestation, or a health issue.
Myth: “Flea and tick season is only in the summer.”
Truth: These pests can survive indoors year-round. Some regions like ours never get cold enough to kill them off entirely.
Myth: “My pet only needs protection if they scratch a lot.”
Truth: Many pets don’t show symptoms until it’s too late. Prevention is always easier (and cheaper) than treatment.
Protect year-round. Even indoor pets.
We are closed today for our monthly staff training from 8:30 am - 10am. Thank you for your understanding.

Today we celebrate the resilience, loyalty, and unconditional love of rescue dogs everywhere.
On National Rescue Dog Day, we honour the dogs who got a second chance and the people who opened their hearts to them. Whether they came from a shelter, a rescue organization, or a difficult past, rescue dogs have an incredible way of reminding us what trust, forgiveness, and companionship truly mean.
At our clinic, we know that every rescue journey is unique. Some arrive confident and carefree, while others need patience, training, medical care, and time to feel safe. Watching those transformations is one of the most rewarding parts of veterinary medicine.
If you’ve adopted a rescue dog, thank you for choosing compassion. And if you’re considering adding a pet to your family, remember: sometimes the perfect dog is the one still waiting to be found and there continues to be a lot of pets looking for homes locally.
Share a photo of your rescue dog in the comments. We’d love to celebrate them with you!

Smell ya later!
A dog’s nose is nothing short of amazing! Dogs have up to 300 million scent receptors compared to our 5-6 million, making their sense of smell up to 100,000 times stronger than humans. From detecting disease and finding missing people to sniffing out hidden treats, their noses are truly superpowers.
Breeds like Bloodhounds, Beagles, Dachshunds, and German Shepherds are especially gifted scent detectives. Next time your dog stops to sniff everything on a walk, remember....they’re experiencing a whole world we can’t even imagine!
