Meet Jackie â a true little survivor with an incredible spiritâ¨
Jackie came to us as a stray after being hit by a car. When she first arrived, she was unable to use her back legs due to neurological injuries caused by the accident, and her future was uncertain. But Jackie never gave up. With time, care, and determination, she slowly regained her strength and learned how to walk eat and play again, amazing everyone who met her along the way.
Today, Jackie is a healthy, happy, and playful girl who doesnât let her past define her. She loves to explore, play, and enjoy all the little things life has to offer.
Jackie is now ready to find a loving forever home. If youâre looking for a companion with an inspiring story and a heart full of love, Jackie is waiting to meet you.
To conquer loose-leash walking, we need to take it one step at a time, and the very first one is the equipment you use.
Maren Bruun of Paw In Hand shares these three essentials to enjoying a loose-leash walk with your dog.
1ď¸âŁWell-fitted harness: that is comfortable for the dog to wear.
2ď¸âŁLong leash: Remember that it is important that you can safely and effectively handle it.
3ď¸âŁTreat pouch with lots of treats: because there are plenty of things that compete for your attention!

Meet Fraser!
Found along the Fraser River, looking for his furever home. Fraser is looking for a gentle quiet home where he can get used to human affection. Possibly living his whole life outside, he enjoys being out on his catio, but we have slowly seen him getting comfortable with the warmth of inside.
We will not be adopting out Fraser as an indoor/outdoor cat, he was found as a stray so he will want to be a stray again.
Fraser very much enjoys feather wants and toys. He would love for you to buy an automatic toy so he can play when heâs alone too. As soon as you walk through the door, he will start chatting away with you.
Do you think you could be Fraserâs person? Here is how to find out:

Meet Ahsoka! â
This sweet Akita came into care as a stray and is now ready to find the perfect place to call home. She can be a little reserved at first and may need some time to warm up, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate side truly shines. Ahsoka loves attention and will happily lean into you for scratches and pets.
She enjoys spending time outdoors, so a home with a secure backyard would be a dream come true. Ahsoka also loves her daily walks and has demonstrated great leash manners.
Ahsoka would do best as the only pet in the home and in a household without small, high-energy children or babies. She does have food sensitivities and is currently on a hydrolyzed protein diet, which will be an ongoing expense to consider.
We welcome all applicants, though prior experience with Akitas or dogs in general is considered a plus!
