𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 the recent Maple Ridge–Pitt Meadows News article highlighting the 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬, the 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝟖𝟖) is stepping up in a big way. 💜

Beginning in June, 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 from every Bingo Night 50/50 draw will support Friends In Need Food Bank.

Our heartfelt thanks to President Darryl Hildebrandt and the entire Legion for turning concern into action and helping keep our community nourished.

Donations can be dropped off at our main foodbank facility Monday to Friday between 9am and noon. Please bring all food donations to the back door.

We’re proud to share that Friends In Need Food Bank Society’s 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 on food insecurity was included in the 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭.

Every day, we see the growing pressure on families in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. As our executive director said, “We meet working families, seniors, single parents, newcomers — people doing everything they can to make ends meet. We are grateful the Committee heard our concern. The next step is action.”

We’re looking for a few amazing volunteers to join our team at Friends In Need Food Bank and help us run our Perishable Food Recovery Facility. Our facility is open 7 days a week from 7am until noon.

If you enjoy sorting donations, can comfortably lift 50lbs, and want to connect with wonderful people from our local community, we’d love to have you with us.

Whether you can help once a week or four times a week, any days are truly appreciated. Your time makes a real difference for families right here at home.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of BC Lions and BC Place, fifteen of our amazing Friends In Need Food Bank volunteers enjoyed a private suite experience at the BC Lions vs. Toronto Argonauts game on July 25, 2026 — complete with great food, drinks, and time spent together with our volunteer community and staff.

We’re so grateful to BC Lions and BC Place for giving us the chance to celebrate the people who give their time, energy, and heart to support local children, families, and seniors facing food insecurity in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
