Join me in congratulating Kyle, one of our beloved community members. Kyle graduated to be a teacher and gave his first lesson shortly after graduation. It takes courage to say the truth and Kyle over came that today to say the following words.
“You come to st marys you learn what a land acknowledgement is, you learn how to do a land acknowledgement, you heard a land acknowledgement at this ceremony here today. You all have an obligation to save palestine from becoming a land acknowledgement. Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians. Not unlike Canada as its done and continues to do against indigenous people here today. Not unlike what has happened in sudan, nigeria, yemen and of course n**i germany while the world did and does nothing. In canada there are currently more indigenous children in social welfare than there ever were ever in residential schools. Alberta teachers. Stop this history from repeating itself. From the jordan river , to the Mediterranean sea to treaty 7 territory , palestine will be free.”

Eid Mubarak to all those who celebrate and those who support those who celebrate. Feeling grateful for all the amazing people who support our people in Gaza and continue to do so on a daily basis.

This Sunday, we will be celebrating Eid as one family at the peace brunch. The is a chance for anyone to experience the spirit of Eid. The more we get to understand one another and share each other’s celebrations, the closer we get to peace. Everyone is welcome with love ❤️

If we want a world filled with peace, we need to start communicating our truth with love no matter who we are facing. Those who have been in darkness from any truth need love and light to see clearly. Be that love and light and meet anger with a tender heart. Believe in the goodness that resides in every single human that exists. And yes, very tiny amount of evil doers are have sold their soul to evil but 99% of people are made of love and seek peace. That is the way of the peace maker. Love to all ❤️

One of the reasons I started Peace Brunch is because I saw myself feeling lonely in this city as an immigrant.
As someone who doesn’t drink or party, I realized how hard it can be to genuinely meet new people — especially people who are kind, open-hearted, and aligned with deeper values. So many people are craving connection, but don’t know where to find it.
What’s been beautiful is seeing Peace Brunch slowly become that space.
Over the past year, we’ve watched strangers become friends, creatives collaborate, communities connect, and people from completely different backgrounds sit at one table with openness and respect. We’ve truly attracted some of the kindest people in the city.
That’s why Peace Brunch means so much to me. Yes, there’s beautiful Palestinian-inspired food, live music, culture, and warmth — but beyond all of that, it’s about creating a space where people feel they belong.
In a world where so many people feel disconnected, sitting together is powerful.
Our next Peace Brunch celebrates the spirit of Eid al-Adha, and I would genuinely love for you to join us — whether you’re coming alone, with a friend, or for the very first time.
