Behind Furaha Rising is a team of volunteers who care deeply about creating meaningful impact within communities in Tanzania🤍🇹🇿
From planning fundraisers and organizing programs to connecting with sponsors and supporters, every part of Furaha Rising is powered by volunteers who believe in empowering women, supporting children’s education, and building community both locally and globally🌍

Furaha Rising was never created to be just another charity.
It was created from a belief that lasting change happens through empowerment, education, opportunity, and community💛
After spending time in Tanzania, I realized the most meaningful support isn’t temporary help — it’s creating opportunities that allow individuals and communities to rise for themselves🌍
Through initiatives like our Seeds of Hope women’s empowerment program, we hope to support women with vocational skills, education, confidence, and long-term opportunity.
Because when we help others rise, we all rise✨

Hi, I’m Sydney 👋🏼 — founder of Furaha Rising
In 2024, I had the opportunity to volunteer in Arusha, Tanzania. It was an experience that changed me in ways I’m still carrying with me. I witnessed the strength of the people I met, the sense of community they have, and also the very real barriers they face every day.
I came home with a deep feeling that I couldn’t ignore—and a desire to continue supporting women and children in their education and opportunities📚👩🏼🤝👩🏽
My background in psychology, early childhood education, and counselling has shaped that passion. I’ve always felt called to help people feel seen, supported, and valued—and that’s what led me to build something of my own.
Furaha Rising is focused on supporting women and children in Arusha, Tanzania through education, skill development, and opportunities that lead to long-term independence.
This is just the beginning, and I’m really grateful to have you here💛🌱
