Why are you booking photos this year?

Motherhood photography is what I do.

Anything and everything to do with mothers.

Because I don’t think that we see our strength quite enough.

Moms are the ones holding down life at home… raising babies, making sure there’s always milk in the fridge, wiping dirty faces, scheduling everyone’s lives, growing humans.

It’s a thankless job, and it is the most important job.

You deserve to be in the photos. Not just behind the camera.

You don’t have to be “ready” to book a session.

You don’t need to lose the weight or find the perfect outfit or wait until the house is clean. Pregnant, brand new baby, or just your regular crew that somehow keeps getting taller. You just show up as you are.

Because your kids won’t remember if your hair was done. They’ll remember that you were there. And honestly, you’re going to want photos you’re actually IN, not just the one behind the camera.

You don’t need another “book now!” post in your feed. You need someone to actually see what this time in your life feels like.

Most days you’re just trying to get through. You love your kids fiercely AND you’re also exhausted in a way that’s hard to explain. Somewhere in the back of your mind you’re making thinking: I should get photos done. But then you picture stiff poses, bright lights, a stranger barking “say cheese!”

That’s not what I do.

A couple weeks ago I spent the day with moms for my Mother’s Day Minis and what I kept noticing was how real everyone was. Tired, soft, themselves. No performing. Just moms with their people.

Mother’s Day is one Sunday. But these years you’re in? It’s every single day. And it deserves to be remembered the way it actually feels.

If you missed the minis, that door isn’t closed. Golden hour, your living room, wherever feels easy. Just you, as you are, with the little people who think you hung the moon.

To the moms today —

The new moms in the quiet, sleepless hours. The seasoned moms watching their babies grow taller than them. The moms whose arms ache for someone they can’t hold. The moms missing their own mom today.

The moms who became moms through adoption, fostering, surrogacy, or sheer force of love. The bonus moms and stepmoms. The aunties, grandmas, and mother figures who stepped in when someone else stepped out.

The moms in the thick of it. The moms waiting through cycles, paperwork, prayers, hope. The moms who lost babies the world never got to meet. The moms estranged, the moms healing, the moms simply trying.

I see you today. Motherhood in every form is sacred, and so are you.
