An organization focusing primarily on orphan animals. We provide each animal the love and care necessary to successfully be adopted into a loving home.

Please note we are a foster based rescue and do not have a physical shelter building. One At A Time Rescue started with one crazy cat lady and one crazy dog lady who will go to the ends of the earth to help animals in need. That's how all rescues begin right? But what makes OAAT so special? We focus mainly on orphaned kittens and puppies. Providing that love and nurturing that normally kittens and puppies would receive from their mothers.

NOW AT PETSMART! 😉😉

Dandelion — our 18‑month‑old mama kitty who has completely stolen the hearts of everyone at the vet clinic where she’s been fostered.

This girl is the perfect cat (and no, we’re not biased… okay maybe a little). She’s incredibly friendly, affectionate, and has become the unofficial clinic greeter. Dandelion is totally unfazed by the hustle and bustle of clinic life — barking dogs, busy mornings, new faces — she takes it all in stride with her calm, confident little purr.

Her favourite spot is lounging by the front desk, supervising the day and greeting staff with happy chirps. She’s wonderfully tolerant with kids and happily accepts their enthusiastic, sometimes questionable cuddles. While she hasn’t lived with other cats or dogs in foster, she’s shown zero stress around them and we feel she’d adjust beautifully in a multi‑pet home.

Dandelion is the kind of cat who fits into any family — gentle, social, easygoing, and full of love.

If you’re looking for a sweetheart who brings sunshine wherever she goes, Dandelion is your girl ❤️

🐾 Buck is ready to go home! 🐾

Buck is one of the tiny newborns found in a plastic bag in Rideau Park in Brandon — umbilical cord still attached, fighting for a chance he should never have had to fight for.

After much love, many sleepless nights, round the clock feeds, and a whole lot of stubborn kitten spirit, Buck is healthy, thriving, and officially ready for his forever family.

Buck is great with cats, dogs, and kids, and he has that perfect mix of cuddly and mischievous that makes kittens irresistible.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, this brave little boy is ready to start his real life.
Please share to help Buck find the home he deserves.

New kittens alert — and these two are absolute characters.

Meet Simon and Garfunkel, 8‑week‑old brothers who arrived into care this week and immediately made themselves at home. They’re goofy, confident, friendly little guys who think every human is their new best friend.

These boys will fit beautifully into any home — families, singles, first‑time adopters, seasoned cat people, you name it.

They should be ready to head to their forever homes in 10–14 days.

If you’ve been waiting for kittens with big personalities and even bigger hearts, Simon and Garfunkel are your duo.

Blayze (aka Nugget) — our adorable 5‑month‑old mixed‑breed sweetheart is still searching for her forever family.

This little girl is the full package:

• Good with cats
• Good with dogs
• Good with kids
• Crate trained
• 99% potty trained
• Fully vaccinated

Blayze can be a tiny bit shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up, she becomes your little shadow. She loves spending her days bouncing between playtime with her foster dog siblings and cuddle sessions with her foster parents. She’s also recently discovered that she loves swimming — this girl is a water baby through and through.

She’s incredibly smart, learns quickly, and has wonderful manners with the cats. She understands which ones want to interact and which ones prefer their space. With kids, she may be shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she’s all in for playtime and zooming around the yard.

Blayze truly is the sweetest little girl — affectionate, gentle, playful, and full of love. She adores kisses, cuddles, and being someone’s best friend.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who fits beautifully into almost any home, Blayze might be your perfect match.

Meet Lavatera, Petunia, and Geranium — three seven‑week‑old sisters who will be ready for their forever homes next weekend.

These sweet little girls are a bit shy right now, but that’s only because they’re still with their momma. Once they’re in a home of their own and immersed in normal family life, they’ll settle in beautifully and their personalities will shine.

They’re gentle, playful, and so ready to blossom with the right families.
