What initially commenced as a requirement to qualify for larger tender opportunities soon evolved into a critical undertaking. Beyond enhancing client confidence, it provided a strategic platform to strengthen our business, financial, and operational frameworks. This process also enabled significant improvements to internal procedures, thereby increasing overall organisational efficiency.

Aiden and Zachary joined us this year as Undergraduate Engineers from Curtin University. They’ve been an integral part of our team, running our document control, implementing our Quality Management System (QMS), and helping automate key processes.

With exams behind them, they’ve transitioned into engineering design projects, working alongside our Senior Engineers and taking ownership of their own initiatives. Their efforts have already earned praise from our clients, a testament to their talent and dedication.

Excited to welcome James Wong to the Toro team as our Principal Engineer!

James is a seasoned Structural Engineer and Practice Leader with 25+ years of experience delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

He has led multidisciplinary teams on large-scale transport, mining, and energy projects—ranging from freeway upgrades and rail level crossing removals to offshore platforms and power stations. At Aurecon, James managed a team of engineers delivering complex rail and road projects while driving technical excellence and client success.

His leadership spans senior roles at Aurecon, KBR, and Worley Parsons, consistently championing innovation and collaborative delivery on projects worth millions to billions.

Your expertise and leadership have already made a positive impact on our team culture and processes.

Toro Engineering was recently invited to sponsor Team Genesis from Wesley College Perth at the STEM Racing State Finals Camp on Garden Island - support a group of passionate, engineering-minded students? That was an easy decision!
During the competition, their car Aurora raced more than twenty times against four other teams and remained undefeated in both the Grand Prix and Knockout Championship. Even more impressive, their manufacturing passed scrutineering with zero penalties - the only team to achieve this!
We’re incredibly proud that Team Genesis emerged as State Champions and has now earned a spot at the 2026 National Competition in Melbourne. Well done, Team Genesis!
