🌊 AQWA Redevelopment: A New Chapter for WA’s Iconic Aquarium!

Decobu is excited to continue our support for the AQWA Expansion and Redevelopment at Hillarys Boat Harbour — one of WA’s most visited and recognisable attractions.

Documentation is almost finalized as the project moves toward construction in May 2026, marking a significant step forward in this transformational upgrade.

Project highlights:

• Brand-new multi-stage aquarium exhibits showcasing WA’s marine biodiversity
• The Two Oceans Theatre — a 125-seat 3D dome experience, first in WA
• New café and modernised visitor amenities
• Expanded outdoor spaces with playgrounds and themed areas
• Sustainability Centre to promote marine education and research
• Upgraded immersive experiences with improved accessibility for all visitors

Decobu is proud to provide Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Fire (MEPF) engineering design, ensuring the essential building services infrastructure runs seamlessly behind the scenes.

📣 We’re pleased to share an important leadership update at Decobu.

From 19 January 2026, 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 will be joining Decobu as Managing Director, leading the business nationally.

Melvin brings strong experience in leading professional services businesses, with a focus on people, accountability, sustainable growth, strategy and client relationships.

His appointment reflects Decobu’s continued evolution as a national, multidisciplinary building services business.

𝗗𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 will remain actively involved in the business as Executive Director, with a focus on strategy, key relationships, growth and acquisitions, while Melvin leads the day-to-day leadership and ex*****on of the business.

This appointment supports Decobu’s long-term vision and reinforces our commitment to delivering great design, great service and great outcomes for our clients — supported by great people.

We look forward to the next chapter for Decobu.

✨ Wrapping Up 2025 with the PH Team! ✨

Nothing brings a team closer than a day filled with good laughs, friendly competition, and shared memories — and our year-end get-together with the PH team was exactly that. We were also grateful to have our Managing Director, Dale Foster, fly in from Australia to join us for the celebration. 🙌

It started with a Leadership & Strategic Alignment session, where we reflected on 2025 and shared our vision, priorities, and goals for 2026. This insightful discussion set the tone for collaboration and teamwork that carried throughout the celebrations. 💡🤝

From solving clues in the Mystery Manila breakout rooms (almost solved!), to rolling pins and strikes at Kings & Queens Bowling, to karaoke sessions that brought out everyone’s inner performer — and topped off with exciting raffles and gifts 🏆 — the day was filled with energy, teamwork, and appreciation. 🎳🎤✨

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to another meaningful and successful year. Here’s to more collaboration, growth, and shared achievements in 2026! 🥂

July 2016: Decobu turned Level 9, 225 St. Georges Terrace, Perth into a sophisticated, high-tech workspace for Oracle!

Every detail—from feature ceilings and bespoke walls to custom furniture and integrated MEP & fire systems—was meticulously coordinated to ensure style meets functionality. Advanced AV systems, powered by a Crestron control system, make collaboration and presentations effortless.

We’re proud to carry this legacy forward, expanding our interiors and fit-out expertise nationally, creating inspiring workplaces across Australia!

♻️ Recycling Centre Balcatta Redevelopment – Building a Smarter, Safer, and More Sustainable Facility

Located at 238 Balcatta Road, Balcatta WA, the Recycling Centre Balcatta Redevelopment is set to transform the City’s existing facility into a modern, efficient, and community-focused waste management hub.

The redevelopment will continue current recycling services while introducing a dedicated commercial Waste Transfer Station—enhancing functionality and sustainability. 🍃

Key design objectives include improving waste separation efficiency, ensuring safe and clear site navigation, and enhancing Work Health and Safety for both users and staff. The project also focuses on traffic flow optimisation, operational flexibility, and environmental preservation by minimising vegetation clearing and maintaining site operations throughout construction.

Decobu is proud to be involved in this important community infrastructure project, collaborating with Byte Construct to help deliver a facility that supports the City’s long-term waste management and sustainability goals. ✨

Decobu is proud to be supporting Electrotek (QLD) Pty Ltd as their D&C consultant on for Marine Quarter Stage 2—a striking residential development redefining modern coastal living along Marine Parade, Southport QLD.

Rising 33 levels above the Gold Coast skyline, Marine Quarter Stage 2 features 158 premium apartments, a ground floor lobby with retail spaces, six levels of above-ground parking, and a rooftop recreation area with pool—all thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of coastal living and panoramic views.

The electrical design was developed with precision and integration in mind—ensuring functionality, energy efficiency, and comfort throughout the tower which has made our job very simply in way of find value managed options.

It’s been a pleasure collaborating with an exceptional project team to bring this landmark development to life so far.
