Physically back in Vienna, mentally still on the race track in FS Alpe Adria 🇭🇷

FS Alpe Adria Day 6 🇭🇷

And with a blink of an eye we have reached the very last competition day and the last Endurance Race of the season. What a race! We managed to place third in AutoX the day before which meant Endurance Finals for us! 24 nerve wrecking rounds later our EDGE17 finished its last lap and the team was able to breathe again. Not for too long though as we still had to go through the post scrutineering which meant waiting and hoping that everything is still as and where it is supposed to be. Great news: we passed!
This concludes an amazing summer where the EDGE17 hit the track at three competitions in three countries. 🧡

FS Aple Adria Day 5 🇭🇷

The whole day was about the Autocross discipline where two driver each get two runs. Due to unstable weather conditions it was a lot of back and forth which tires to use and when to push the car out of the pit and onto the track. It was pouring rain the whole morning and then luckily cleared up in the early afternoon. After quick round in the practice area we pushed directly to the AutoX queue. Our first driver set great times for both runs: 49.181s & 46.348s. ⚡️
We passed the post scrutineering and went right back into the queue with our second driver. For his first run he set a time of 47.003s. For his second one he set an amazing time of 44.594s and with that placed us third in this discipline! 🔥

Part 2: at these competitions of great importance is also the off-track performance at the Engineering Design, Cost Report, and Business Plan Presentations. We have an amazing team for each static discipline and they rocked yesterday! 🤝

FS Alpe Adria Day 4 🇭🇷

Part 1: yesterday our EDGE17 spent most of its day on the track driving either with a driver or driverless. The day started out with Manual Acceleration where we set a great time of 3.351s!! 🔥 SkidPad was also on the schedule and both of our drivers were able to complete their runs with solid times!

Not long after the car was pushed back to the accel track but this time for the Driverless Acceleration discipline. At FSAA we are one of only four team to compete in the driverless challenge. While waiting on the track to open we had a great time with the amazing members of munichmotorsport just talking and hyping each other up. It's always nice to have another BMW team around! 🧡
This discipline is a big for our team as we never before were able to complete a valid DV Accel run at an event but we managed to set two solid runs and we are beyond proud! 🔥
After completing those we again pushed the car to the SkidPad track where we set a great first run! The EDGE17 must had been tired at this point because right after starting the second run it turned right into the cones and we had stop the run. Nevertheless, we are extremely happy with the results from the dv challenge here at FSAA! 🤩

FS Alpe Adria Day 3 🇭🇷

Better late than never!
In the morning we attempted and passed the Brake Test. Afterwards we did 3 of our 4 Accel runs and due to time constraints no SkidPad runs. In the evening we still had to go into the Driverless Scrutineering together with three other teams. We passed! 🧡

FS Alpe Adria Day 2 🇭🇷

Yesterday was all about getting the scrutineerings done. We passed the driver egress right when we got to the pit. Next up was the Tilt Test where the car gets tested for fluid leaks and the center of gravity - passed! After our EDGE17 got weighed we pushed back to the pit for a quick lunch break before attempting the Rain Test right after. ☔️Unfortunately we were not able to pass it the first time but after some fixes we passed the test later in the evening. With that we only have the Brake Test yet to pass as well as the two driverless scrutineerings. 🤝
