Powering Industry with Solar

When it comes to large-scale commercial energy solutions, Nutrimaster is a great example of what can be achieved with the right system design and a phased approach.

The project features:

1 MWp of Jinko 615W bifacial panels
1.2 MW of Solis PV inverters

The system was designed and implemented in phases, allowing Nutrimaster to measure performance and ROI before progressing with subsequent stages. With EMS-enabled monitoring, the system provides clear visibility into energy production and efficiency, helping guide informed decisions as the installation continues to grow.

The project also incorporates proactive maintenance through thermal-imaging drone inspections, helping identify potential issues early and keep system performance and uptime at their best.

A big achievement by Mike Snape and his team at ProVolt, delivering another large-scale solar solution designed around the client’s actual energy requirements.

Project Spotlight | Hillcrest Schools

Empowering Future Generations

Reliable power is essential in education, ensuring learning can continue uninterrupted and providing a comfortable environment for students and staff.

At Hillcrest Schools, three hybrid solar systems have been deployed to provide dependable power across the schools while reducing reliance on generators.

Combined System Specifications:

267kWp Jinko 610W Bifacial Solar Panels
200kW Solis Hybrid Inverter Capacity
210kWh BYD High Voltage Battery Storage

The combination of Solis Hybrid Inverters and BYD High Voltage batteries provides reliable backup power throughout the day, while supporting the school’s operations and ensuring comfortable accommodation for boarding students at night.

The transition to solar has also helped the schools reduce generator runtime and lower their overall carbon footprint. Combined with the move to gas cooking, this represents a significant step towards a more efficient and sustainable energy strategy.

A big thank you to Ryan Demblon and his team at GDI for the professional installation and quality workmanship on this project.

Investing in reliable energy today. Empowering the next generation tomorrow.

Project Spotlight | Palmlife Blueberry Farm

Flexible and Scalable Solutions.

Agricultural operations depend on reliable power, and for a blueberry farm, maintaining stable operating conditions is critical.

At Palmlife Blueberry Farm, the energy solution was designed in stages, allowing the system to grow as the farm’s requirements changed.

System Specifications:

380kWp Jinko 555W Solar Panels
250kW MegaRevo PCS Inverter
270kWh BYD High Voltage Battery Storage
3 × 100kW Fronius Tauro AC-Coupled Inverters

The project began with a PV-Genset solution, using three 100kW Fronius Tauro inverters to reduce reliance on both grid and generator power.

As grid reliability became increasingly challenging, the system needed to evolve. The second phase introduced battery energy storage, providing greater energy security and helping maintain the consistent and stable temperatures required for the blueberry operation.

Thanks to the flexible and future-ready design of the original EMS solution, InnoTech was able to integrate the MegaRevo PCS and BYD battery storage into the existing installation without having to start from scratch.

The result is a scalable energy solution that can adapt alongside the farm—demonstrating how the right system design today can make future upgrades simpler, more cost-effective and more efficient.

A big thank you to Rich Werrett and his team at InnoTech for another excellent installation and for their continued focus on delivering practical, future-ready energy solutions.

Designed to evolve. Built to perform.

Project Spotlight | Bubye Valley Conservancy

Energy. Anytime. Anywhere.

Powering a remote operation comes with unique challenges. At Bubye Valley Conservancy, a weak grid and the site’s remote location meant a heavy reliance on generators. This large-scale Victron ESS has transformed the site’s energy infrastructure, dramatically reducing the need for generator operation.

The system comprises:

180kVA of Victron 5kVA Quattro Inverters
496kWh of BYD LVL Battery Storage
238kWp of Jinko 555W Solar Panels
Solar integrated through Fronius AC-coupled inverters and Victron MPPTs

To accommodate the scale of the system, Solar by Design engineered an innovative solution using two purpose-built 40HQ containers, housing the extensive battery and power electronics infrastructure.

The combination of DC and AC-coupled solar allows the system to efficiently utilise available solar generation while simultaneously supplying loads and charging the battery bank.

The result is a powerful, reliable energy solution designed specifically for a challenging remote environment—providing dependable power while significantly reducing generator runtime.

A huge congratulations to James and his team at Solar by Design for the exceptional engineering, installation, and ex*****on of this project.

The quality of the installation was recognised internationally, with the project going on to win the Victron Best Installation in Africa 2025 Award.

A fantastic example of what is possible when innovative technology meets outstanding engineering.

Energy. Anytime. Anywhere.

Project Spotlight | Rugare Mews

Energy Independence. Community Support.

At Rugare Mews, the focus was simple: create a reliable solar solution that could take the household towards complete energy independence while delivering an added benefit to the surrounding community.

The system comprises:

32 × Jinko 580W Solar Panels
1 × Victron 15kVA Quattro Inverter
40kWh BYD LV Battery Storage
4 × Victron 250/100 MPPTs

The carefully designed Victron ESS provides reliable, intelligent energy management, allowing the home to maximise solar generation while storing excess energy for use when needed.

But the benefits extend beyond the household.

When the home is producing more solar energy than it requires, the surplus can be used to support the community borehole, helping provide a reliable source of energy for an essential shared resource.

This project is a great example of how a well-designed solar system can deliver energy independence while creating a positive impact beyond the property itself.

A special thank you to Warren and his team at Currently Amped for the professional installation and quality workmanship that brought this system to life.

Powering homes. Supporting communities. Building energy independence.
