Meeting Posts
🌍 BUILDING RESILIENCE IN CHIPINGE
Today, Chipinge Rural District Council convened a meeting to unpack the Africa Disaster Risk Financing Programme in Southern Africa (ADRiFi) — "Mitigating Fragility through ADRiFi" — funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in partnership with UNHCR.
The USD 154,877.00 project focuses on Environmental Management and aims to enhance resilience and adaptation to climate disasters for forcibly displaced people and their host communities.
Key interventions include:
âś… Strengthening multi-hazard early warning and disaster risk information systems
âś… Climate disaster risk profiling and contingency planning
âś… Developing District Disaster Risk Management and Climate Resilience Plans
âś… A Settlement Development Master Plan for Tongogara Refugee Settlement
âś… Community-led environmental remediation, drills and awareness campaigns
âś… Land use plans and zonation maps
Implementation is anchored on participation and inclusion — leaving no one and no place behind — with transparency, feedback and strong coordination with partners including the Department of Civil Protection, MWACSMED, MSD, ZINWA and MPSLSW.
Together we can build a safer, climate-resilient Chipinge. đź’š
