I am not searching for any of that fairytale love
Real emotions are what I need to have
I want to experience days that make me glad
While knowing sometimes I may feel sad
Because I know I can't be happy always
Reality comes with good and bad days
That is something that will always be true
You just have to figure out a way to get through
And it sure does get easy when you have someone by your side
Who comforts you and wipes away the tears when you cry
I need a love that goes beyond physical appearances
The kind based on forgiveness and second chances
That's the kind of love in which I believe
The kind where you get what you give
Because the love I know is a two way street
In which half way is where you and yours meet

Possibilities
Last night, in a dream, you came to me
And showed me just what life could be
If the two of us were to end up together
A future full of happiness that lasts forever
We'd have a son and daughter that look just like you
We'd experience love and peace in all we'll do
We'd have a happy home filled with love
With nothing to destroy what we'll have
I hope that sure does come to pass
I want to build with you a bond that will last
It would be great to have you in my life
I would be the happiest if you were the one by my side
To assure me that everything would be alright
If ever a time comes when I have no strength to fight
So I do hope to someday see a future
Where you and I are together

No to Love
Believe in love, is a childish dream that will never come true
That's why I will never give my heart to you
The fact that you would probably cause it to break
Is a chance I am not willing to take
I've seen so many get hurt by it
That I am unwilling to try it
I don't want to give a chance to love
Then end up with someone who doesn't think I'm enough
A relationship isn't an endeavor I'm willing to take up
Because I know it might end up in a break up
I've seen so many folks go through that drama
And I'm not ready to put my life through such trauma
Not taking a leap of faith might be worse
But I can't give in knowing sometimes love hurts
I don't want to end up in pain like the rest
So staying away from love is probably best
