Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, on a farm in Dearborn, Michigan. He was the eldest of six children to Irish immigrant parents, William and Mary Ford. Growing up, Henry was fascinated by machines and spent hours tinkering with tools and gadgets on his father's farm.

At the age of 16, Henry left the farm to work as an apprentice machinist in Detroit. He later worked as an engineer for the Edison Illuminating Company, where he developed his skills and knowledge of engines and machinery.

In 1896, Henry built his first gasoline-powered vehicle, the Quadricycle. This invention sparked his interest in building cars, and in 1903, he founded the Ford Motor Company with a group of investors. The company's first car, the Model A, was a success, but it was the introduction of the Model T in 1908 that revolutionized the automotive industry.

The Model T was the first affordable car for the masses, and it quickly became a best-seller. Henry Ford's innovative manufacturing techniques, including the assembly line, made it possible to produce cars quickly and efficiently. By 1914, Ford was producing over 300,000 cars a year, and the Model T had become a symbol of American innovation and progress.

Henry Ford's impact on the world went beyond the automotive industry. He was a pioneer of the modern assembly line and mass production techniques, which transformed the way goods were manufactured and distributed. He also introduced the $5 day wage for his workers, which was double the average wage at the time, and helped to establish the concept of a living wage.
