We as Be True 2 Me, stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in Uganda, who are currently facing discrimination and persecution due to the criminalization of homosexuality. The laws in Uganda, which criminalize consensual same-sex relationships and threaten LGBTQ+ individuals with imprisonment, represent a gross violation of human rights and are completely unacceptable.

The LGBTQ+ community in Uganda has long been subjected to harassment, discrimination, and violence. They are often ostracized from their families and communities, denied access to basic services such as healthcare and education, and are at risk of physical harm and even death. These discriminatory laws not only infringe upon the basic human rights of LGBTQ+ people but also perpetuate harmful stereotypes and contribute to a culture of intolerance and hatred.

It is important for us all to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in Uganda and to demand an end to these discriminatory laws. We must work together to promote acceptance and understanding, and to create safe spaces where everyone can live and love freely without fear of persecution or harm.

To the LGBTQ community in Uganda, we offer our support and solidarity. You are not alone, and your fight for equality and justice is valid and essential. We will continue to amplify your voices and stand with you in the struggle for human rights and equality for all.

Hello

It's a sad day as the Uganda Parliament passes the bill Criminalizing LGBTIQ+ individuals!

The bill will now have to be Veto or Signed by the Ugandan President, and having seen his views and opinions on Q***r individuals, he will probably opt for the latter.

How can we let people play and rule over people's freedoms, rights, their right to live as they want to and to dictate their way of life is what should or is supposed to be right and wrong!

Our thoughts and Prayers are with all those who are affected by this devastating and revolting decision and really hope they can find their way out

We stand with the LGBTQ+ community in Uganda. Stop this bill that dehumanises and criminalizes existence. We call on the South African government to uphold their own international obligations to protect the dignity and freedom of every human being. Our Constitution sets us apart from other countries by prohibiting discrimination based on a person's real or perceived sexual and/or gender diversity.

As South Africans, we must stand up and be counted. We must be vocally and visibly supportive of the inherent human right of every person to exist, regardless of their real or perceived gender and/or sexual orientation.
