Saw this a few years ago, good to watch it again. I still always seem to come back to this font or some derivative of it, its so versatile and seems to say so much or so little depending on your needs.

Helvetica Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual......

, a motion design and animation studio out of Cape Town approached me to create a custom word-mark and icon for them. They place a heavy emphasis on meaningful narrative, they work with sense and emotion and wanted to reflect that in an experimental and contemporary colour palette. If you haven’t seen their work, its outstanding and always very consistent. I have a lot of respect for their craft. Check them out at quitefranckly.co.za

I was looking through my old work the other day, always liked this one. An A2 poster designed for the birthday poster exhibition. The brief from them was simply, motion in black and white, do what ever you want. Which is always great :)

If you're interested Ive been updating my website ianfinchdesign.com ...Still a lot more projects to come.

"No tree can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell"
Carl Gustav Jung

Artwork done for the Progressive Rock band

In light of albinobeach's new album, The Ladder, the band performed a series of shows featuring new material. The mini tour culminated in a live show at the Goodluck bar in downtown Johannesburg's Newtown precinct.

The theme of the art follows the concept of the album.

The artwork speaks to the integration of the subconscious and the conscious, the understanding of the shadow to inform the self.

I wanted the artwork to display the duality of the human condition and the idea of going deeper inward and subsequent awakening as a result.
I photo-comped images of Greek and Roman statues, radiolaria, atoms, fossils, sacred geometry, ancient technology and architecture.

My friends and colleagues at Nicework had an incredible year, check out some of their highlights

Looking back at 2019 In a few weeks 2019 will come to an end and it’ll be the end of the decade (which sounds a lot more ceremonious). We take a look back at 2019 and some of the work we’ve done.
