Felisha — Season 1: The Chosen One
Episode 8B – Seeds of Faith (Part 2)

The morning sun rose over Kutama, carrying a crisp, cool breeze that moved gently through the trees.
Inside the main hut, Felisha was already dressed in her neatly pressed school uniform. She stood before the small mirror hanging on the mud wall, smoothing down her collar before carefully packing her schoolbooks. She paused for a moment, her eyes falling on her faded brown notebook. She picked it up, placed it gently inside her schoolbag, and zipped it shut.
When she stepped outside into the yard, Gogo Bessy was already seated on her low wooden stool, sweeping the sweeping-grounds with a hand broom.
“Gogo, ndava kuenda kuchikoro,” Felisha called softly as she walked over.
Gogo paused, resting her broom, and looked up at her granddaughter with warm eyes.
“Eeeh, mwana wangu. Famba zvakanaka.” She reached over to the small table beside the door and picked up a lunchbox. “Tora mbuva iyi ugozodya panguva yerunch.”
Felisha smiled brightly. “Ndinotenda zvikuru, Gogo.”
She slipped the lunchbox into her bag and hurried toward the gate, where Tendai was already waiting for her.
Gogo watched the two girls walk down the dusty red path until they disappeared behind the acacia trees. She stood in silence for a long moment, her thoughts drifting back to Chivhu—to Baba Tawo, his final words, and the heavy responsibility left in her hands.
Gogo lowered her eyes and whispered softly to the wind, “Baba Tawo... mwana wenyu ari kuedza. Asi Mwari ndivo vanoziva zvakamumirira.”
At school, the morning flew by. When the bell rang for break, Felisha walked out under the shade of the large blue-gum trees with Tendai and their close friend, Ruvarashe.
Felisha sat cross-legged with her brown notebook open on her lap, quietly going over some class notes with Ruvarashe while Tendai unpacked her lunch to share with them.
A few meters away, their classmate Ruvimbo noticed the trio. She exchanged a sly look with two other girls before strolling over, folding her arms as she stopped in front of them.
“Hey, Felisha.”
Felisha looked up calmly.
“We heard you were selling vegetables at the market last week,” Ruvimbo said, a teasing smirk on her face. “Is money really that tight at home?”
Tendai stopped mid-bite and set her food down. “Why are you asking her that, Ruvimbo? There’s nothing wrong with helping out at home!”
Ruvarashe stood up beside Tendai, nodding. “Exactly. At least Felisha is doing something useful with her time.”
Felisha gently touched Tendai's arm, urging her to relax. She looked directly at Ruvimbo, her voice remaining quiet and steady.
“Working hard isn't something to be ashamed of,” Felisha said. “I’m helping my Gogo, and I’m saving for something that matters to me.”
Ruvimbo raised an eyebrow. “And you think selling vegetables is going to change anything?”
Felisha held her gaze, a small, peaceful smile touching her lips. “I don't know what it will change yet. But sitting around doing nothing definitely won't change a thing.”
For a moment, Ruvimbo had no response. She blinked, rolled her eyes to save face, and walked away with her friends.
Tendai watched them leave, letting out a heavy breath. “How do you stay so calm? I was ready to tell her off!”
Ruvarashe laughed softly. “That’s just how Felisha is.”
Felisha smiled and closed her brown notebook. “Come on, let's eat before the bell rings.”
When the bell rang calling everyone back inside, Felisha slipped her notebook into her bag and followed Tendai and Ruvarashe into the classroom.
Mr. Murambwi was already standing at the front, quietly arranging a few books on his desk. Once the class had settled into their benches, he rested his hands on the edge of the desk and looked around the room.
“Before we begin today's lesson,” he said, his deep voice carrying across the quiet room, “I want to talk about something important.”
The students fell still.
“Sometimes, a person's greatest gift does not look important at first,” Mr. Murambwi said softly. “A gift can begin as something very small—a simple thought, a question, a story, or a few words written on a page. You might even wonder whether what you carry inside you matters at all.”
Felisha sat up straighter, listening carefully to every word.
“But never measure the value of your gift by how small it looks in the beginning,” he continued, holding the class's attention. “A seed does not look like a tree. But if it is planted, cared for, and given time, it becomes something far greater than what you could hold in your palm. Your gift is no different.”
He paused, his eyes sweeping across the quiet room.
“Do not be afraid of beginning small. And don't wait until you think you are perfect before you use what God has placed inside you.”
Something deep within those words resonated with Felisha, settling quietly into her heart.
Mr. Murambwi turned to the blackboard and picked up a piece of chalk. “And that brings us to today's lesson.”
He wrote a single word across the board in neat block letters:
VERBS
“A verb,” he explained, turning back to the class, “is a word that shows an action. It tells us what someone or something does.”
Underneath, he wrote a list of examples:
Write. Work. Learn. Help. Grow.
“Let us take the word help,” he said. “Help is a doing word. It is a verb because it shows an action.”
Felisha quickly opened her exercise book, dipped her pen, and copied the list down. Beside the word help, she carefully drew a neat little line and wrote:
Doing word — Verb.
As Mr. Murambwi continued teaching, Felisha followed along with full focus. In that quiet classroom, a simple English lesson had subtly become another powerful seed planted in her journey.
To Be Continued…

There are times when our strength is simply no longer enough. But Jesus sees every hidden tear, understands every silent ache, and carries us when we can’t walk alone. If this speaks to your heart, breathe deeply and say: “Jesus, thank You for holding me.” 🤍🙏🏽

Good night, my family. ❤️
As we lay down tonight, let us reflect on where we have been.
Let us forgive ourselves for the mistakes we made, make peace with what we cannot change, and leave room in our hearts for a new beginning.
Sometimes life chooses for us the things we least expect. We make plans, we have dreams, and then life takes us down a completely different road.
But maybe the new road is not the end of the story.
Sometimes, what we did not choose becomes the very chapter that teaches us how to become who we were meant to be.
So tonight, let us release the past and embrace tomorrow with faith, courage, and an open heart.
A new dawn is coming. ❤️
Good night, my family. 🌙

To my family here, I am truly grateful for you. ❤️
It is such a great honour to know that there are people who genuinely value my presence and take the time to check on me when I’m quiet.
It was unfortunate that I lost my phone, which kept me away for a while, but thankfully, everything is okay now. 🙏🏽
To everyone who reached out, asked if I was okay, or simply wondered where I had been—thank you. Your messages reminded me that I am surrounded by people who truly care, and that means more than I can put into words. ❤️
I’m grateful for you, my family. 🫂❤️

Goodnight 🌙❤️
Before you close your eyes tonight, take a moment to look at yourself with kinder eyes.
You may not always see what others see in you. You may focus on the things you wish you could change, while forgetting the strength, beauty, and purpose that already live within you.
Sometimes, discovering your worth begins with simply learning to see yourself differently. ✨
Rest tonight knowing that you are valuable, you are beautifully created, and your story is still unfolding.
Tomorrow is another opportunity to walk confidently in who you are.
Sleep peacefully. Wake up knowing that you are enough. ❤️🙏🏽
— With love, Felisha 🌸

Maybe you’re not seeing yourself the way others see you.
Sometimes we focus so much on our flaws that we forget there are people who see our strength, our kindness, our courage, and even our light.
Someone may be looking at you and seeing something you’ve never noticed in yourself.
What if you could see yourself through their eyes? ❤️
