On the first day of this month it was Global Day of Parents :

Parents play a vital role in raising, guiding, nurturing, and protecting children. Through love, support, and positive discipline, parents help children develop confidence, values, and the skills they need to thrive.

As Parents we have roles and responsibilities to play. Let’s take time to understand our children—their feelings, challenges, strengths, and unique personalities. When children feel heard, understood, and supported, they are more likely to grow into healthy, resilient, and responsible adults.

Listen with empathy.
Communicate openly.
Spend quality time together.
Create a safe and loving environment.
Encourage and support their growth.
Understand your child’s temperament ( what motivates their behaviour)
Understanding emotions

Strong families build strong communities. Let us continue working together to raise and protect our children with care, understanding, and respect.

Families and Sustainable Development .

Strong families are the foundation of healthy communities and sustainable development. Family-oriented policies help create environments where individuals and families can thrive socially, emotionally and economically.

Policies that support education, healthcare, child protection, employment opportunities, gender equality and access to social services contribute to stronger and more resilient families.

When families are supported, children are more likely to succeed, communities become safer and societies are better equipped to face social and economic challenges.

Investing in families today helps build a healthier, more caring and sustainable future for generations to come.

Let us continue promoting family wellbeing, support systems and inclusive policies that leave no one behind.

💙 International Day of the Boy Child 💙

Today we recognise the importance of nurturing, protecting and empowering boys to grow into healthy, responsible and confident men.

Every boy deserves love, guidance, education, emotional support and opportunities to reach their full potential. Promoting the wellbeing and development of the boy child helps build stronger families, safer communities and a better future for society.

Let us encourage boys to express themselves, seek support when needed and grow in environments that are safe, respectful and supportive. Boys should be taught that violence is not a solution to their problems.

Protecting the boy child means teaching positive values, promoting mental and emotional wellbeing and ensuring that every child feels seen, heard and valued.

Together, we can raise boys who are compassionate, respectful and empowered to make a positive difference in the world.

🌍 International Day of Families

Today we celebrate the important role families play in building healthy individuals, strong communities and a caring society. Families are the foundation of love, support, guidance and belonging.

A strong family support system helps individuals cope with challenges, promotes emotional well-being, teaches values and creates safe spaces where every member feels heard, loved and protected.

No family is perfect, but through communication, respect, understanding and support, families can grow stronger together.

Let us continue to support, uplift and strengthen families in our communities because strong families build strong societies.

At FAMSA, we recognise that families come in many beautiful forms. 💙 Let’s talk blended families.

A blended family is a family formed when two people come together in a relationship or marriage and one or both partners have children from previous relationships. Together, they create one new family unit.

Blended families can include:

* Step-parents
* Step-siblings
* Half-siblings
* Biological children from previous relationships

These families grow through love, communication, respect and support as family members adjust to new roles and relationships.

Blended families may face challenges as they adjust to new roles and relationships, but with love, patience, communication and mutual respect, strong and healthy family bonds can grow. 🌱

Every family journey is unique, and every child deserves a safe, supportive and loving home.

Supporting Family Members with Mental Health Challenges :

Mental health matters — and so does your support.

When a loved one is struggling, your understanding, patience, and presence can make a powerful difference. You don’t need to have all the answers — just being there is enough.

Here are simple ways to support:
Listen without judging
Encourage them to seek professional help
Be patient — healing takes time
Learn about mental health to better understand
Remind them they are not alone

Let’s break the stigma and create safe spaces for open conversations at home.

If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out to local support services or a mental health professional.
