This heritage day, be encouraged to learn more about our roots, indigenous languages and culture from those that came before us.

Our roots are our foundation and future.

Take pride in who you are and allow your roots to set a path to who you truly are and the potential we can reach.

Our backgrounds are who we are.

Happy Heritage Day, Mzansi. 🇿🇦

Lebone says - Enough is enough.

Violence against women is getting out of hand and should not be tolerated.

Stop gender-based violence and femicide now.

This cannot be our new normal.

The time to act and stand up against this is n is right now.

20/09/2026

It's time for action against the violent scourge upon us.

Now is the time for harsher punishments to be a reality for perpetrators of violence against women.

Now is the time for collective action to make our streets and communities safer for everyone.

Now is the time when this behaviour is not accepted as a norm.

Now is the time when such crimes are not tolerated.

Now is the time when this matter is no longer up for discussion or debate but real action be the order of the day to move us forward into a safer, peaceful and considerate nation.

As a responsible community-based organization, we are concerned about the recent brutal kills of women as reported in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg.

We are concerned about the safety of women in the country and how killings are taking place one after another over a short space of time.

Families are left broken, questions remain unanswered and children are left without their mothers.

We cannot go on like this.

It cannot be business as usual.

Perpetrators must be found and brought to account.

We stand for no violence against women in South Africa. We call on other organizations, civil society groups, government, law enforcement officers and ordinary people to do their bit, where they are to pull necessary resources and expertise to help out an end to this scourge.

It also starts with us - in our spaces, homes, in our circles - what we allow, becomes the norm.

There should never be another woman who gets brutality killed in our country and perpetrators must be found and stopped. This cannot continue..

Cry, the beloved country.

Thank you Mam Adelice Koloba and the Ampath Lab team including one of our own Mentor Teresa Ndlovu for this beautiful and thoughtful gesture for our impact community.

The cold weather could not stop this moment and initiative from going ahead as planned.

Together, we can act to make and be the difference in our immediate spaces.

We are grateful

On the 5th of September 2026, during our Academic Support Session, we had a surprise visit from the team at Ampath Laboratories.

Ampath Laboratories prepared some dignitary self-care packages for distribution to our team on the day, which will go a long way in restoring and uplifting the lives of our mentees and academic support advisors.

We take this opportunity to acknowledge Ampath Lab for this wonderful gesture and for taking the time to prepare these with care, love and attention and come to distribute them during our session.

It takes a conceited effort and partnership to make a real difference within our impact community and we believe this will go a long way towards achieving those ideals for a better world. We are honoured to be associated such an establishment in our organization.

Here's to many more similar impactful driven collaborations!

Thank you to the team at Ampath Laboratories for showing kindness, humanity and a spirit of community through this initiative.

Not even the weather could prevent the initiative from being a success.
