Datacentrix recognised with 100 trees through Plankomat’s PaperCut Grows campaign 05/06/2026

Datacentrix has been awarded 100 trees by PaperCut Software partner, Plankomat SA, as part of the ‘PaperCut Grows’ campaign, a global initiative aimed at becoming a positive force for ecological renewal. The award recognises Datacentrix's Managed Print Services' efforts to help organisations to reduce unnecessary printing, lower paper consumption and minimise environmental impact through intelligent print management technologies. The donated trees, which will be planted on behalf of a Datacentrix customer, support broader reforestation efforts and reinforce the role that smarter printing strategies can play in advancing corporate sustainability goals.

POWERING THE NEXT ERA OF AFRICAN MINING
Africa’s mining future will be defined not only by the resources extracted from the ground, but by how effectively enterprises can harness the data generated around them – and apply intelligence to it.

AI is transforming mining into a real-time, data-driven industry. Its success will not be determined by algorithms alone, but by the strength of the infrastructure supporting it.

A colocation data centre ecosystem provides the foundation required to collect, connect and convert data into actionable intelligence, enabling mining organisations to operate more safely, efficiently and sustainably. By building the right digital foundation, organisations can move beyond operational constraints and unlock the full potential of AI-driven innovation.

Rethinking attack surface management 28/05/2026

In our newest trends piece, Datacentrix examines why cybersecurity’s biggest challenge is no longer visibility alone, but understanding whether existing security controls are truly effective.

The article looks at how expanding attack surfaces, shadow IT, cloud sprawl and AI-driven threats are changing the security landscape, and why approaches such as continuous threat exposure management (CTEM) are helping organisations move from static monitoring to continuous validation and more proactive attack surface management.

Rethinking attack surface management If there’s one shift currently defining cybersecurity today, it’s not that organisations aren’t able to see their attack surface; it’s the fact that the

Tharisa Minerals drives connected mining in an African first, with adaptive wireless solution from Datacentrix 21/05/2026

Tharisa Minerals has successfully transformed its South African open-pit mining operation into a highly connected, data-driven environment. This is the result of the deployment of an advanced wireless network solution – the first of its type in Africa – in partnership with Datacentrix.

Built to overcome the shifting topology of an open-pit mine, the hybrid architecture combines fixed high sites with nomadic, trailer-mounted towers that move with the pit, ensuring continuous, reliable coverage without the cost and complexity of LTE or 5G networks.

A second implementation for Tharisa Minerals is underway at Karo Mining in Zimbabwe, covering a significantly larger operational footprint. The solution has also subsequently been adopted by other local mining organisations, with the assistance of Datacentrix, reinforcing the company's ability to enable safe, scalable and cost-effective digital transformation in mining.

The rise of response-ready cyber security 04/05/2026

In our latest trends piece, Datacentrix explores the growing need for organisations to balance preventative cybersecurity measures with robust incident response capabilities. As threats such as phishing and ransomware become more sophisticated and harder to detect, prevention alone is no longer sufficient. To find out more, read the full story here. https://www.itweb.co.za/article/the-rise-of-response-ready-cyber-security/JBwErvn32b876Db2

The rise of response-ready cyber security Response readiness isn’t something that is designed once and then forgotten – it needs to be tested regularly, says Kyle Pillay, security as a service manager at Datacentrix.
