As we commemorate the legacy of the 1976 Youth Uprising, we invite young people to come together for a meaningful dialogue on shaping the future through active citizenship and electoral participation.

This year's Youth Indaba will reflect on the sacrifices of the past while exploring how today's generation can drive change, strengthen democracy, and make their voices count.

The DDP this morning hosts the SJI Election Project, CSO Capacity Building Workshop.

This workshop forms part of an ongoing effort to strengthen civil society participation in electoral processes and democratic governance, particularly in the lead‑up to the 2026 Local Government Elections.

We’ve been busy... and it’s only the end of the first quarter of the year.

From civic education workshops and youth dialogues to social cohesion engagements and democracy conversations, the DDP has been hard at work strengthening active citizenship and public participation across communities.

And we’re only getting started.
