Industrial Staircase Installation - Gauteng At the Maq Washing Powder Plant in Wadeville, Johannesburg, Blue Engineering delivered a fully compliant industrial steel staircase and walkway railings. Built with channel stringers and vastrap treads, this project strengthens workplace safety and functionality.

Project Highlight: King Shaka International Airport
Blue Engineering completed two custom steel staircases at King Shaka International Airport at the end of 2024. These staircases connect the air bridge to the airside for passengers seated in the back half of the plane.
Built for strength and passenger comfort, they feature galvanised steel, aluminium vastrap tread plates, stainless steel balustrades, and a protective roof. We also installed two Jansen doors for access to the upper landings.
All work was completed in line with SANS 10400 and SANS 10160 standards.

Another project completed!
Blue Engineering designed, manufactured, and installed a steel fire escape staircase at Township Spares and Battery Centre in Chatsworth. Built in our modular bolt together format, the staircase includes balustrades, vastrap treads for safety, and hot dip galvanised steelwork for durability.

Blue Engineering installed three glazed steel fire protection doors at Clover Dairies in Durban in mid-2025
Made with Jansen Economy 50 steel profiles and Pyran “S” glazing, these doors are certified for 120 minutes of fire protection. Strength, safety, and reliability engineered for South Africa.

Project Completed: Industrial Steel Doors at SA Breweries
Blue Engineering just completed the successful manufacture and installation of Heavy Duty Industrial Steel Doors at SAB’s Prospecton plant.
These doors were designed to withstand high traffic while preventing dust and humidity from entering the facility. Built with Jansen Economy 60 folded steel profiles and hardware rated for 1 million cycles, they feature:
• Glazing in the top half
• Double gaskets and automatic drop seals for full sealing
• Concealed automatic closers
• Panic exit push bars on selected doors
