⚠️ATTEMPTED HIJACKING IN PHOENIX LEAVES MOTHER AND CHILDREN TRAUMATISED, AVALEN, PHOENIX

A mother and her children have been left severely traumatised following an attempted hijacking at the corner of Avalen Crescent and Northcroft in Phoenix on Wednesday evening.

Members of KZN VIP Security and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene after receiving reports of the incident. It is alleged that approximately four to five armed African male suspects attempted to hijack a blue Toyota Corolla. The suspects reportedly tried to force the occupants from the vehicle but were disturbed by family members and community members who intervened.

During the incident, the suspects allegedly discharged several rounds before fleeing the scene in a silver-grey Hyundai i10. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported.

KZN VIP medics assessed the female victim and her children on scene, where they were found to be severely traumatised by the ordeal. Further emotional support was provided while emergency personnel remained in attendance.

The circumstances surrounding the incident cannot be confirmed at this stage and investigations are ongoing. SAPS, together with KZN VIP and other emergency stakeholders, attended the scene.

🚨 ONE PERSON KILLED, MULTIPLE INJURED IN N2 CRASH NEAR QUEEN NANDI DRIVE, DURBAN🚨

KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services responded to a serious multiple vehicle collision on the N2 northbound before the Nandi Drive off-ramp, north of Durban, shortly before 21:00 on Tuesday evening.

Upon arrival, KZN VIP medics were met with a devastating scene involving three vehicles that had collided, resulting in multiple patients sustaining injuries and causing significant disruption across the national highway.

One of the drivers was found entrapped in the wreckage. Despite the best efforts of emergency personnel, the adult male had sustained fatal injuries and was sadly declared deceased on the scene.

A further five patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious and were treated and stabilized on scene before being transported to various medical facilities for further medical assessment and care.

The circumstances leading up to the collision cannot be confirmed at this time and remain subject to investigation by the South African Police Service.

⚠️A suspect was swiftly apprehended by members of KZN VIP following the theft of fuel from a local service station in the Phoenix area.

Witnesses contacted KZN VIP after observing the suspect fuel his vehicle at a service station in the Sunford area before fleeing the scene without making payment. A witness maintained a safe following distance while remaining in contact with KZN VIP control room operators, providing real time updates on the suspect's movements.

KZN VIP reaction officers immediately responded and joined the pursuit. Following a lengthy chase through the Phoenix area, the suspect's vehicle was successfully cornered near the Phoenix SAPS precinct. During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly drove recklessly at high speeds, bypassing multiple traffic signals and narrowly causing several collisions, placing other road users at significant risk.

The suspect was detained by KZN VIP members and subsequently handed over to SAPS for further investigation and processing.

KZN VIP commends the vigilance of the witness whose quick actions and cooperation assisted in the successful apprehension of the suspect.

⚠️Multiple Shops Looted in Cornubia Housing, Verulam

Approximately three shops were looted in the Cornubia Housing area of Verulam a short while ago.

Members of KZN VIP, together with SAPS, SBA Security and other emergency stakeholders, responded to the scene following reports of unrest and looting. Upon arrival, it was established that a group of individuals had allegedly stormed into several stores and began looting goods. The exact number of suspects involved cannot be confirmed at this stage.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Law enforcement and security personnel remain on scene, maintaining a high-visibility presence and monitoring the situation to prevent any further incidents.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.

⚠️Truck Driver Seriously Injured Following Crash on the R102 Near Verulam

A truck driver sustained serious injuries following a crash on the R102 between Verulam and Ottawa Road on Sunday evening.

KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the incident. Upon arrival, paramedics were met by first responders from SBA Security and found the driver trapped inside the wreckage.

Working alongside emergency personnel on scene, the driver was carefully extricated from the vehicle before being stabilised under advanced medical care. The patient was thereafter transported to a nearby medical facility for further medical assessment and treatment.

The circumstances leading up to the crash cannot be confirmed at this stage and remain subject to investigation.
