SACE has become aware of a fraudulent communication circulating on social media falsely presenting banking details as those of the South African Council for Educators (SACE).

The banking details displayed in the circulating post DO NOT belong to SACE and should not be used for any payments, registrations, fees or other transactions.

🚨 MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE URGED TO:

* Do not deposit money into the account advertised.
* Do not share your personal or banking information with the individuals circulating the post.
* Verify SACE banking and payment information directly with SACE through its official communication channels before making any payment.
* Report the fraudulent post/account to the relevant social media platform.
* Anyone who has already made a payment should contact their bank immediately and report the suspected fraud to the South African Police Service (SAPS).

SACE Celebrates Women in Leadership and Management in Emthonjaneni CMC

As South Africa commemorates Women’s Month in August 2026, the South African Council for Educators (SACE) officially launched this year’s Women’s Month celebrations in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday (07 August 2026).

The launch commenced with a special celebration honouring women in leadership and management within the Emthonjaneni Circuit Management Centre (CMC).

The event focused on recognising and appreciating the invaluable contribution of female leaders and managers within the education sector. It also provided an opportunity to encourage women in leadership positions to continue inspiring, mentoring and empowering other women to pursue leadership and management roles.

SACE acknowledged the dedication, resilience and commitment of women who continue to make a meaningful contribution to the teaching profession and the broader education system.

The celebration further highlighted the importance of creating an environment where women are supported, recognised and given opportunities to grow and excel in leadership.

As Women’s Month unfolds, SACE encourages all female leaders and managers in the education sector to continue leading with purpose, inspiring others and opening doors for the next generation of women leaders.

SACE WC CONDUCTS CPTD & CODE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS SESSION

Yesterday, the SACE Westen Cape Provincial Cordinator conducted the Continuous Professional Teacher Development (CPTD) and Code of Professional Ethics session at Zwartberg Secondary School for educators attached to the Eden and Central Karoo District, Circuit 7.

The session was attended by educators from all schools in the Prince Albert area, who had been invited to participate. The programme focused on promoting professional development and reinforcing the ethical standards expected of educators.

SACE Delegation Attends the 2026 SAELA International Conference

The South African Council for Educators (SACE), led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mme Ella Mokgalane, is participating in the 2026 South African Education Law Association (SAELA) International Conference, taking place from 2–5 August 2026 at the Southern Sun The Marine, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape.

The SACE delegation also includes Manager: Planning and Research/A, Mme Tuzana Sophethe, and Manager: Legal & Ethics, Mr Sandile Ntshalintshali, who are representing SACE at this gathering of education law professionals and stakeholders.

This year's edition marks a significant milestone for education law professionals, policymakers, researchers, school leaders, and legal practitioners in South Africa. The conference provides an important platform for dialogue on the evolving legal and policy landscape in education.

The conference activities includes Keynote addresses, Research paper presentations, Legal panel discussions, Practical workshops
Networking opportunities and discussions on emerging education law issues affecting South African schools.

SACE Participates in SADTU Free State 5th Provincial Fun Walk

SACE proudly participated in the SADTU 5th Provincial Fun Walk, held at Brandfort Plaza in the Free State. The SACE delegation was led by Mme T. Sophethe, joining educators and stakeholders in promoting wellness and social awareness.

The event commemorated Women's Month 2026, paying tribute to the courageous women of 1956 while raising awareness about the ongoing fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The 5 km fun walk also encouraged educators to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.

SACE remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote educator well-being, gender equality, and the values of social justice and nation-building.

Together, we walk for health, dignity, and a future free from gender-based violence.

SACE Conducts Code of Ethics and CPTD Training

SACE this week conducted several sessions focused on Professional Development and the Code of Professional Ethics for educators. Through the session, SACE was able to demonstrate how to uphold to CPTD Points.
