PRASA Metrorail Gauteng has successfully concluded today's Rail Safety Awareness activation at Welamlambo Public School, and what an incredible day it has been!

Learners and educators came out in full support of Bafana Bafana as South Africa joined the world in celebrating the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Dressed in their Bafana Bafana jerseys and filled with national pride, learners participated enthusiastically in a day of rail safety education, entertainment and celebration.

The programme provided an opportunity to educate learners about the dangers of trespassing, stone throwing and vandalism of railway infrastructure, while also creating a fun and interactive learning environment. Our PRASA mascot added to the excitement and helped make the day even more memorable.

We thank the management, educators and learners of Welamlambo Public School for their warm welcome and active participation. Together, we continue to build safer communities while inspiring the next generation through meaningful engagement.

The day has finally arrived! Today we are at Welamlambo Public School as part of our ongoing Rail Safety Awareness Campaign programme.

The school has once again welcomed us warmly, and learners are actively participating in discussions around rail safety, including the dangers of trespassing, stone throwing, vandalism and unsafe behaviour near railway lines.

Today is also a special day as we celebrate the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America. The school has embraced the spirit of the tournament, with learners and educators proudly wearing their Bafana Bafana jerseys in support of our national team.

The atmosphere is electric, filled with excitement, learning and national pride as we rally behind Bafana Bafana and continue to promote rail safety among our young commuters.
