An Auction for Excellence 🚣‍♂️

Matthew Coetzer has earned his colors. After being selected for the South African U23 Sprint Kayak Team, Matt faced a major hurdle: a visa delay that blocked his path to the World Champs in Canada.
But we aren't letting that stop him.
Instead, Matt is heading to Europe to compete on the international circuit and attend an elite coaching camp in Denmark.

We Need Your Support

International competition is entirely self-funded. To get Matt to the start line in Italy and Denmark, we need to bridge the gap for travel, equipment, and fees.

The Auction starts at 19:30.
Whether you’re bidding on big-ticket items or just enjoying the night, every cent raised goes directly toward Matt’s tour costs.

For our many out of town / out of country members that can’t join us for Matt’s fundraiser at Slops on Friday night we have loaded the auction as a live broadcast.

This means that you can bid from anywhere in the world in real time and help raise funds for this good cause.

If you would like to bid you will just need to follow a simple registration process before the event on Friday (please don’t leave it to the last minute)

Plett Surf members assisted in a clean up operation after an intense storm savaged our beautiful Central beach 🏝️ Hopefully it will be back to its former Glory soon soon !

On 15 May, the vibey, feel-good sounds of Whiskey for Tea or Tea are back at Slops and ready to get the good times rolling 😎

Catch them live from 18:30 and expect great music, great energy and a crowd that’s here for a proper night out.

Side note: There will be a R100 cover charge, with all proceeds going towards helping South African U23 sprint kayaker Matthew Coetzer get to Europe to compete. We’ll also be hosting a special auction on the night in support of Matthew’s journey.

Big congrats to our Masters Squad 🌟and rock star coaches, who took part in SA Nationals recently.
You guys showed us how its done! Excellent finishes from all 4 🙌With Mark Gouws & Andrew Jansen Van Rensburg obtaining bronze in sprint and beach run and our very own Ryan Parnell claiming GOLD in beach sprints.

Well Done!

Shalae Gouws took on Junior Nationals 2026 with absolute determination, grit and the grace of a true athlete, competing in some nail biting finals she gave it her all! We are so very proud of you 💙
